Chapter 2

"Bip! Bip! Bip!" The alarm went off making an infernal noise. "Shut up" I whispered with my rough morning voice and stopping it. First day for me at the new highschool and the first day for Cara at the private university were she has been accepted. She chose a private one so that she'd have time for a job and to volunteer at the animal shelter. I get up , leaving my comfortable and warm bed behind , and go to the bathroom to take a shower. After that I dry my hair and brush it , it's length stretching to my hips. I put on a pair of dark blue skinny jeans , a gray crop top , a pair of white converse and a soft black jacket then left my room. Mom and dad were probably at work already and Cara is surely still sleeping. I grab an apple and my backpack and get into my new car. It arrived last night , a red , white wheeled Mini Cooper , a little gift from mom and dad.
It only took me twenty minutes to arrive and now I'm trying to find my locker. The hallway was filled with all sorts of teens , there were the popular ones , sided by their admirers , the geeks and the jocks. Of course , there were also the ones like the goths and the ones who didn't belong to any category. I've finally found my locker and I start to put my stuff in it. My first class is chemestry , so I get my books and start looking for the chemestry laboratory. Ten minutes later I was completely lost and running late when I bump into a massive rushing someone. I look up and see a really hot guy with mesmerizing black eyes , dark brown hair and a shocked grin on his face.
" - Whoo , sorry , I'm so sorry." He said picking my books and giving them back to me. He was really handsome , athletic most probably playing in the football team. He looked at me and smiled showing his perfect teeth. " Hy...I'm Aaron." And he stretched out a hand.
" - Hy , I'm Emma." And shook his hand.
" - You're the new girl , right?" He asked and started to drag me down the hallway and up some stairs.
" - Yeah , right , I was actually trying to find the chemestry laboratory , do you" - but I couldn't finish my sentence because he said abruptly:
" - I know , we're in the same class , and for your information , we're also late. Mrs. Chase isn't going to like it." A sacrcastic tone in his voice and a smile growing on his face. We entered in a large room , where glass recipients filled with coloured chemicals dominated every table , a stinging smell of sulfur floating in the room. An old , slim and tall woman with gray hair and cold eyes was holding one and turned to look at us.
" - Well , look what the wind brought! Mr. Carson , so pleased to see you here today , after all I see you pretty rarely at my class." She said sarcastically. He looked at her and smiled.
" - Come on Mrs. Chase that's not completely true ; you know I love you."
" - Right" and she moved her eyes on me " oh , you brought the new girl with you , didn't you?" He nodded while he went to sit next to a cute brown haired guy. "Come on then , tell us your name." She said rather pretending to be nice. I walked in front of the blackboard and looked at all the students , some with a bored look on their face , others with wierd grins.
" - Hello , I'm Emma Fray" I said trying and failing to seem confident.
" - Hello to you too Mrs. Fray." Said the teacher " now go pick a seat" And she returned her attention to the lesson. I looked around and I saw a gorgeous cheerleader with dark short brown hair gesturing to come sit with her.
" - Hy Emma , I'm Sofi. I'm so glad to meet you!" She wispered looking rather extatic to meet me and smiling. She had dark reddish brown eyes and a body that surely turned a lot of heads.
" - Hy Sofi , nice to meet you too." I smiled back but I couldn't help but feel a bit anxious about her. I mean , since when popular cheerleaders befriended the new ones?
" - I saw you and Aaron Carson , Gosh! Do you have any idea how lucky you are?" She looked at me with a suggestive smile and rised her eyebrows.
" - Really? He didn't seem to be such a big deal to me." I said it as impartial as I could. I was totally lying , his face and awsome british accent popping in my mind. I don't know why I was lying , it's just that feeling that something was up with Sofi.
" - He didn't seem to be a big deal?!" Sofi looked stunned and for a moment I think I saw anger. " I mean , he's just the guy every girl in this school crushes on , no big deal" Yep , she was clearely sarcastic.
" - Whatever." I said rolling my eyes and pretended to focus on the lesson. Something made me turn around only to find him looking at me. He met my eyes and winked making me blush. I miled back at him and turned away my blushed face.

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful , I've met four girls , Lauren , Eva , Izabelle and Theresa and Izabelle's and Tessa's boyfriends , Simon and Will. Sofi turned out to be awsome , we hanged out all day and talked. I've seen Aaron at two more classes , english and gym class. He's actually a football player as I've guessed , and a very good one I might add.
It's the end of my last class , the only one where Sofi wasn't with me , so I sat next to Tessa. She was really nice and we get along great. She told me how she and Will met at school and that they're dating for six months now. The class ended and I started to pack my things when Tessa said that she had to go meet Will and yelled a "Bye!" while rushing out the door. I got my backpack and went for the exit , when I remebered I left my car keys in my locker. I turned around and went for it. Found the keys , closed the locker's door and dropped them when I saw that Aaron was standing behind the door smiling.
" - Ah , God , Aaron! You scared the shit out of me!" I said laughing while picking up the keys.
" - Hello to you too , Em." He said laughing at my reaction. "Let me walk you to your car , okay?" and replaced his laughter with a charming smile and mocked a formal bow.
" - Okay , just stop that horrific bow." I said and chuckled. He straightened and we started walking.
" - So , where are you from? I know it's somewhere from the sunny parts of the U.S.A , because your tanned skin and accent , but wich state?" He looked at me curiously.
" - I'm from California. But I've always wanted to live here , in London." We looked into each other's eyes and smiled then he looked at my car.
" - Is this your car?" he sounded amazed " you must be rich."
" - Not exactly." I said laughing at his look. " My mom and dad are , my mom's a lawyer and my dad's working at E.A as a lead producer.
" - Wow , that's...amazing" he looked at me looking a little bit sad.
" - What do your parents do?" I asked searching his face worried.
" - My mom's a teacher at a private school and my dad , he's , in jail." He looked so vulnerable , searching my face. I smiled reassuringly at him and put my hand on his shoulder.
" - I understand if you don't want to tell me , but , why is he in jail? And for how long he is?" I tried not to be too nosy. He didn't seem to mind me asking , he was probably already used.
" - He's a buisness man , and someday a fishy contract showed up and he was brought to court. The judge gave him three years ; that was one year ago." He looked down seeming ashamed.
" - It's going to be okay" I said feeling bad for him " those two years will pass in no time , you'll see." He looked at me with a shy smile starting to appear and he leaned in and kissed me. His lips were soft and tasted salty. He sucked my bottom lip and then he stopped.
" - I- I have to..go." He said baffling. " See you tomorrow , okay?"
" - Sure. Bye." I said catching my breath and searching his face. He was blushing.
" - Bye." And he turned and walked away.
I got in the car and looked in the mirror at myself. I was all blushed. What a day! I started the car and took off , thinking of Aaron and the kiss.
