Alex and I ate in a comfortable silence when I really relaxed. The conversation and the people around us buzzed with excitement. I played with my food becuase I wasn't that hungry. I was too anxious to be hungry. I felt his eyes on me and I slowly looked up. He studied me and said nothing his eyes changed from their smooth, smoldering butterscotch liquir to a deep orange like a fire was burning behind his eyes . I had an instant feeling of warm coming over me and when i looked away it was like I was but in a tub of ice water. Such a difference but I knew somewhat that this sudden change had to do with Alex. I cleared my throat and looked out the window. It was still raining terribly hard . I felt the warmth of Alex's hand when it enclosed mine I looked at him quickly . His eyes were still a burnt orange and I now felt a flood of warmth engulf me.

"Are you ready to leave? If we are done here we  can move onto the other things we need to cover."

I nodded and he threw done some bills and we walked out . before we reached the door he slipped his coat over my shoulders and he slipped on a fidora . It was clack to match his wing tip shoes.I looked at him hesitantly before I laid my hand on the door and he encouraged me. We walked out of the small diner arm in arm with several people watching us intently.

We walked under the patios lining main street looking at shops and small businesses . Finally Alex grew restless and he pulled me close to his chest. He put his face in my neck and he whispered in my ear.

"I can only keep myself in check for so long. I want to run. I will lead and you will follow."

I nodded slightly and I followed as he demanded. I have never been this submissive before in my existence but something about him just made me want to follow and trust him with everything I had. We walked out of town and the rain cleared away and left rainbows.
