this is my man yall.

Jaimie's POV

There's a certain kind of silence that settles over an apartment after someone's been gone for nearly two weeks.

Not the lonely kind.

The waiting kind.

For twelve days, our condo in Dortmund had felt too neat, too quiet.

His trainers were still by the front door where he'd kicked them off before leaving.

His favorite hoodie was still draped over the arm of the sofa because I refused to move it.

Even the coffee machine seemed less busy without him making one every morning.

Today, though, he was finally home.

Jobe Bellingham .

My boyfriend of almost three years.

And judging by the dark circles beneath his eyes when he walked through the front door this morning, he looked like he'd been surviving on airport coffee and four hours of sleep.

He barely had enough energy to smile before wrapping me in the longest hug imaginable.

"I missed ya," he'd mumbled into my hair.

"I missed you more."

"Impossible."

"You've been gone twelve days."

"I counted."

"So did I."

He had kissed the top of my head before letting out the deepest yawn I'd ever heard.

"I'm clacked."

"I can tell."

"I'm gonna sleep for about... three days."

I laughed, rubbing  his hair and his forehead.

"Go to bed."

"You sure?"

"Mhm. I'll make you something to eat first."

"You spoil me."

"You deserve it."

Twenty minutes later, I'd left a warm plate of pasta covered with foil on the kitchen island with a sticky note beside it.

Heat me up. Love you. ❤️

He'd managed a sleepy smile before disappearing into our bedroom.

Within minutes...

Silence.

I peeked inside just once.

He hadn't even made it underneath the duvet.

Still wearing his oversized sweatpants, shirt off, and one arm hanging off the mattress, breathing slow and even.

Poor thing.

I smiled to myself before quietly pulling the bedroom door almost closed.

He needed the rest.

Which was exactly why I decided I'd give him the apartment to himself.

The girls had been asking all week if I wanted to grab dinner and drinks tonight. I'd kept saying maybe because I wasn't sure when Jobe would actually get back.

Now that he was asleep...

I figured I could go for a few hours.

He wouldn't even know I'd left.
