A/N: Hey guys I'm back after 30 years with a new chapter for y'all so here we gooooo!
The doctors said that Kirstie had scored a 1 on the Glasgow scale, meaning she couldn't speak, hear, or respond to stimuli.
But Kirstie could hear, despite what the doctors had said.
And she could see behind her eyelids.
She saw Esther, begging and pleading for her to wake up.
And Kirstie wanted to.
She wanted to so badly, but her eyes refused to open and she couldn't move.
Her throat was clogged with Esther's name, refusing to let the precious word go.
"Kirstie," She heard Esther bawl. "I am so, so sorry. I'm sorry for getting mad at you. I'm sorry for not always being there for you. I'm sorry for everything I've ever done to you.
"Just please wake up so I can know that you forgive me.
"This guilt is too much to bear, Kirstin. Holding your hand as you lie comatose just feels wrong. I feel like I shouldn't even be here in your hospital room.
"This is all my fault."
Esther paused as her sobs racked her body. "It's my fault that we fought that night. It's all my fault that you fell into a coma. It's all my fault Mitch's leg is broken. It's my fault we had to cancel everything, the rest of the tour, the tour with Kelly Clarkson, all our interviews and radio shows, everything.
"Wake up so I can hear you say you can forgive me, Kirstin. Please."
Once again, Kirstie's tongue fought to form four little words, but they got stuck.
That same pattern would continue for a whole year.
