(The dress has to do with later in the story)
The next day, Calum and I didn't contact each other, nor the next day, nor the day after that. I was starting to get worried. He said that he'd go to my fathers funeral, which was tomorrow. I couldn't cry anymore, my tears felt like they ran out. I just wanted to sit and talk with Cal. So I decided to walk over to his house.
Getting to the front door, I was shivering with fear and embarrassment. I shook as I turned the nob and sighed heavily as the front door fell open. Calum was sitting there on his couch eating Stacys face, while Michael, Luke, and Ashton sat a couple inches away from them, mesmerized by the TV. "What. The. Fuck?!" I angrily spoke through gritted teeth. Cal looked up. So did the boys. "Do I not mean anything to you Calum? Seriously? Was that night just a joke to you?" I said, I wasn't gonna cry in front of him, though I did feel a lump in my throat. Turning around, I walked from his house and in the opposite direction of my house. Our secret place is now my secret place. I heard his footsteps coming after me so I picked up my pace, and so did he. Soon we were running. He, being the 6'2" man he is, caught me.
"Katie! Listen to me!" He yelled as I struggled to free from his grip.
"No Calum! Seriously, Fuck you." I yelled back. He gripped my wrists tighter and pulled me into him. Wrapping his arms around me forcefully, he tried hugging me. I was trying to squirm out of his grip.
"Excuse me miss, is this man trying to hurt you?" I turned and saw an officer standing there with his arms crossed.
"No sir, this is my boyfriend and we just got into a little argument." I spoke carefully. I was still pissed at Cal, but I couldn't have him go to jail. He had a career ahead of him.
"Has you boyfriend hit you before miss?" He asked while glaring at Calum.
"No sir, we're fine. We just need sometime alone to talk." I say softly. The officer just nodded and walked off.
"Boyfriend?" Cal said.
"Yup." I said still angry. He noticed right away and started walking with him hands in his pockets.
"Cal wait. Please talk with me at our spot." I desperately said. I needed to know what was up. It was bad enough I lost one special someone, now I was losing another. He turned and smiled at me, it was a soft smile.
"Okay love." He giggled. I couldn't help but smile. He was too cute to stay mad at.
We walked to our rock together, the blanket was still there so I turned it to the side I didn't lose my virginity on. He just stood there awkwardly with his hand scratching the back of his head.
Sitting down on the blanket I patted the spot next to me, he came and sat down. He looked so perfect, his knees were up, arms resting on top of them, right hand grabbing his wrist. He looked so peaceful. He looked over at me.
"Look Katie I-" I cut him off.
"Calum, do you feel anything for me? Or did you just want to take my virginity from me...?" I said softly.
"I don't know what came over me Katie." He said looking at me with soft eyes.
"Oh, okay." I spoke in a whisper. We just sat there for hours, staring at the ocean, then my eyes got heavy. He was just so warm. Next thing I knew, I was out.
*Next Morning*
I woke up panicked. Calum was still asleep. I shook him really hard.
"Cal, my dad! His funeral is today." I say sadly. He shot up from his nice sleep immediately pulling out his phone. I saw him text one of the boys to come and get us from 'the rock'. 35 minutes later, they arrived. Cal and I got into the back of the car.
"Took you assholes long enough." Cal sassed.
"Took us long enough!" Michael raised his voice, "you guys were out here all night! So don't tell us that we took too long!" Calum shot forward, grabbing his shirt, then through gritted teeth he whispered something. Michaels face turned soft, then he looked at me.
"Sorry we took so long." He apologized.
"You're fine" I knew what Calum had told them. The rest of the drive was silent. As the long ride ended, it started to down pour. I got out of the car and ran into my house. Sprinting up the stairs to my room, I stripped down, and then I ran into my bathroom and hopped in the shower. I stood in there for 15 minutes and then finally washed my hair. Walking out to my room in only a towel, looked at my phone.
Calum>__<: one new message
You gonna wear that towel? Cuz damnnn girl.
I smiled a little and look over at Calums window...he wasn't there. I sent him nervously,
No...where are you Cal?
"Behind you." He growled. I screamed. Soon he was laughing and rolling on the floor.
I saw him pause and he was looking at something. I saw him bite his lip.
"What cal?" I say nervously. He smirked deviously.
"It's nothing, I just have an amazing view down here." He didn't take his eyes off my lower area.
"CALUM THOMAS HOOD! STOP LOOKING AT MY VAGINA!!" I yelled. I'm so lucky my mom isn't home. I saw him smile and then he stood up.
"Sorry love." He rubbed the back of his head. I just nodded my head, accepting his apology. Then I grabbed my black dress and walked into the bathroom. I was struggling to zip it up.
"CAAAALLL!"
"YEEEESS!"
"Come here please.." I plead. I heard shuffling and then he asked excitedly, "Are you naked?"
"No, I need you to zip me up please." His soft hands slid gently up my back and I shivered. It suddenly dawned on me that this was real, and I could feel the tears weld up in my eyes.
The ride to my fathers funeral was sad and depressing. No one talked, no one cried either. We were just silent. At the funeral, it surprisingly didn't rain. Which means God was being accepting of my father. This is real, just so real. I started quivering. And I cried a little, while Cal held onto me.
"I don't want people to see me cry" I say through sobs. He started bringing me to a different spot. There he brought me to a little creek by the church. We sat in the grass together and I just watched Mother Nature take her course. Calum was sitting next to me fiddling with something in his hands.
"What's that?" I asked, my voice hoarse from crying. He showed me a necklace.
"It was my grandmothers, she wanted me to give it to the girl I marry." He spoke and half smiled. Then continued on, "but I want to give it to you." He went behind me and pushed my hair off to the side of my shoulder. Moments later, I felt the cold metal touch my neck.
"It's beautiful Cal, but I can't take it. I mean we aren't even dating each other..." I trailed off. He just put his arms around me, softly rocking me from side to side. "I love you." I finally said.
"I love you so much Catherine." He smiled. We went home later that day, but instead of me going to my house, I went to his. We held onto each other the whole night. His cologne scent was intoxicating, and it made me tired. My eyes grew heavy as I drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
