Hitomi's pov
"Mom! Dad I'm home!" I call out. I can hear the footsteps coming closer and faster as I wait with Vincent. They turn the corner of the hall with all the rooms, fear and anxiety written all over their face. They notice me first then the notice Vincent.
"V-Vincent?" Mom asks walking over with dad right by his side.
"Yeah. It's me." he says. I smile as I see tears weld in both of their eyes. They walk up to him with small, hopeful smiles.
"You're here?" dad asks with pure joy.
"Yeah. I am." he says with slight shame and looks down. Dad walks up to him, mom right behind him. They smile as they come closer.
"Y-you came back?" mom asks. Vincent nods and keeps his eyes down. Mom wraps him in a hug and then dad.
"W-what? You aren't mad?" he asks and hugs them back.
"Why would we be mad?" mom asks and let's go along with dad.
"Well, for starters, I kinda kidnapped Hitomi." he says and looks down again.
"But you came back." dad says. Vincent looks up with a smile and hopeful eyes. "Come with us. Hitomi you too. " he says and walks us to the dojo. Grandpa and April are in there meditating.
"Sensei?" mom says quietly. He opens his eyes and sees Vincent. He stands slowly and walks over even slower.
"Vincent?" he asks. Vincent nods and gives a small smile. Grandpa smiles too and puts a hand on his shell. He walks him to the small shelf with pictures of everyone in our family on it and whispers something to Vincent. He's too quite and we're all too far to hear what they're saying but I can tell its something good. "Welcome home child." he finally says and takes his hand back and walks away. Vincent turns to us with a smile. April comes out of her trance but doesn't open her eyes.
"Hey Vincent." she says without moving from her position. He looks at her with shock.
"You're real! I thought I was imagining you!" he almost yells. She smiles opens her eyes and stands.
"Nope. I'm real, and I really was in your mind. I told you that, but I suppose it is reasonable to think I was a figment of your imagination." she says and shrugs.
She was in his head? I think.
"Geesh. What has Donnie done to you?" dad asks with a smirk. I roll my eyes and she laughs.
"No clue. Have you met everyone Vincent?" she asks. He shakes his head.
"Nope. Just you them and, Splinter was it?" he says unsure. She gives a small smile and nods.
"OK then let's introduce you!" she chirps and brings him out of the dojo. My parents and I follow as they introduced him to everyone and smile.
Vincent's pov
It takes half an hour each before they stop with all the questions. I thought it would be weird to come here and live with my once enemies but now I'm here and I feel at home, not because of what they say and act like but because I feel safe and comfortable here. Maybe it's the memories I can't access or maybe it's something else but I am truly home now. I can feel it. I never felt this comfortable or safe or good with fa- Shredder. I like it.
It's hard though at the same time. They all hate the man I once called father. I grew up thinking I love him but also knowing something was wrong. I really only know how to talk to Hitomi. Everyone here seems awesome but, I don't know, I feel like I've been adopted in a way. I know these people are my family but it's awkward, I don't know them.
