Kylie felt warm, so warm she felt comforted like the energy was keeping her company. Her mom appeard. Was it Kylies Mom? After being abandoned no one had ever mentioned her it was like they avoided the subject like the plaugue. All her life she had wanted to know and now, now,  she had a feeling, she just knew it was her mom Kylie had no doubt.
"Hello" kylie whispered in the lowest breath, almost a sigh. A sigh of relief.
"Hello" the wraith breathed back, suddenly it was cold like something was covering the sun.
"I must hurry!" Kylies mom stated
"The darkness will take me I have long awaited you voming here. For years and years, running, running.  Just waiting. " I am your mom and right now I am still alive I have run from death for all these years,  but this is the end for me.  You coming here has created a mark visible from the entire continent.  For years I have waited to tell you the family secret,  linked to the oldest mages.  Before civilization was started. Our family has an ability. A potent ability that has allowed our family tree to continue so far and branch so much as it has in this day and age." Kylies mom took in a deep breath like she was trying to suck all the oxygen out of the air. "We control the flow of time,  the twist and turn of the dominating force in our universe,  something so large and powerful that our scientists have yet to even catch a glimpse of it.  It effects our everyday lives,  when we live, when we love, when we learn.  It is our most structured and supporting foundation the building blocks of our universe, and all the others beside it." Kylies mouth sat ajar to think she controlled something so vast as what the woman-wraith in front of her had explained had shocked her beyond belief. The darkness was spreading now not only covering the sun but rolling in as massive thunder clouds above kylies head,  they didn't have much time.
"Let me help you use it Kylie," the wraith whispered looking scared but prepared for the storm that followed.  "Just imagine the ball of time,  large and tangled and yank a cord out,  you will know which cord to pull instinctively. Once seperated it will allow you to manipulate it as much as you want,  stopping it reversing it.  Just beware such power can cause damage to the soul." she warned "you must not let it overwhelm you! " the woman continued." Kylie nodded understanding and turned to look upwards towards the great puffs if grey-black cloud. Watching them churn and roil. Like to great giants colliding fir a final battle one that would test the world itself. She heard then yet she saw something subtly different. When she looked a the great ball of time the tempest felt out of place like it had been thrown from a long time ago, flung like a giant boulder from the sling of a siege engine. She felt an overwhelming desire to walk towards the strand in her mind, like it wanted to investigate, but as her mind got closer she felt a malice that threatened to overcome her. She felt time slow down, she knew she had to let go, she couldn't keep holding on, she released, and was snapped back to reality, the beast was standing stock still so were Alex and Ben, both mid stride, she looked around, not a gust of wind tousled her beautiful red hair. She had let go, but she was still holding something hoping to see her mom. She knew it couldn't happen yet everything about it told her to keep holding on regain the control of the thousands of strands of time she had been holding. Although she didn't realize it no one had ever held as much time in their hands.
