Candleshade Mess

Sophie's pov

I woke up in the morning and saw a note and a bowl of soup on my desk. It said

On errands at Candleshade, 

Love, Grady and Edaline. 

I smiled. Grady and Edaline is her guardian, and I just started calling them mom and dad a few days ago. 

But why are they doing errands at Candleshade? Then I heard my imparter beep and frowned when Edaline appeared, crying.

And she was holding a limp Keefe. He looked really bad, with bruises everywhere. And his leg⋯

I couldn't look at his leg.

"Sophie, I need you to come to Candleshade and leap Keefe to Everglen. Edaline and I will try to calm Lord Cassius down."Grady's expression was surprisingly calm for the terrible situation, but I shoved every thought away, and didn't even bothered to dress for the rainy day as I called for Candleshade. 

Fitz's pov

I gasped as I saw Sophie and a limp Keefe appear at the gate.

"What happened?"I said as I set out a umbrella. "I don't know, I was just getting up and Edaline hailed me to get Keefe here. And I remembered they said something about Lord Cassius."Sophie whispered, shivering. "Keefe's dad, right?"I asked as I gave her my coat. "Yup"she answered, and we moved Keefe into my bedroom and hailed Elwin. This day couldn't get worse－hopfully.
