Chapter 8

After I finished changing from my gym clothes into regular clothes I wandered around town for a little while just thinking. I somehow ended up near Derek's loft so I might as well make a visit. As I'm walking up the stairs, because elevators are for lazy people, I start smelling....pain? I run up the stairs faster now and make my way to the loft. I then hear a alert sound coming from the loft so I run top speed and I'm there in no time. I start walking down the hall to the sliding door thing and i notice it's already open. I walk in front of it and a look of annoyance crosses my face instantly. I see Kali with a pole through Derek's torso, Cora pinned by the that near Ennis and Deucalion sitting near Derek. I hear Kali saying this was her being gentle and that annoyed me so fucking much so I butted in.

"If this is you being gentle, then you obviously don't know the damn definition." I snap as I enter the loft. Ennis and Kali look up and growl while Deucalion starts hysterically laughing. He stands up and starts walking over to me. I push him back a foot when he is in my personal space.

"Well, well if it isn't Katerina Valkyre! How lovely of you to drop in and say hello. Did you miss me?" Deucalion asks as he starts chuckling.

"No but I sure did miss those scars." I smirk as I spot a little bit showing through from his collar. He starts growling and is about to move forward but I stick my foot out and rest it on his chest to stop him from advancing.

"Now Deuc, is that any way of greeting your precious little princess?" I say sarcastically with venom dripping off of my tongue. At this point everyone is beyond confused.

"Not anymore you're not." He says with rage.

"Sucks to suck." I point out. I take my foot off his chest and I straighten out my jeans. I walk around Deucalion and glance at Cora and I see a begging look in her eyes and i roll my eyes at her and I walk my way over to Derek. I crouch down ignoring Kali's growling.

"How's life down there Derek?" I say with a little bit of sympathy.

"Not so good right now." He struggles to say. I smile a little bit and I stand up and face Deucalion.

"Get your damn speech over and make Kali get this fucking pole out of him before I make her." I demand as I walk over a little bit off to the side and sit on a desk near the window. Deuc sighs and squats back down near Derek.

"Let her go." Derek squeezes out gasping for air. Deuc waves Ennis off. Ennis let's Cora go and she runs to Derek but Derek shakes his head no so she stays where she was.

"See we're not unreasonable." Deucalion states. I roll my eyes, thats bullshit.

"*cough* bullshit *cough*." I "cough" out. Deuc sighs in annoyance and waves Ennis over to me. Ennis comes over and is about to do the same thing to me as he did to Cora but I'm too fast as I take his outstretched hand and break his arm. I throw him across the room near Deuc and I see his shake his head at Ennis.

"What do you want? To kill me?" Derek asks. Oh if he wanted to kill you, you'd be dead already.

"You really think I'm that boring? Don't throw me into sociopaths like your uncle. I'm a man with far more vision than murder. In fact, I'm here to show you just how much vision a blind man can have." Deuc says as he takes off his glasses and starts showing his shining red eyes. Kali twists the pipe and Derek starts coughing up blood.

Cora jumps up and screams, "Your killing him!"

"Not yet little sister." Kali turns and wiggles her finger no. "But I could. Who knows if it's 5 minutes or 5 hours before it's too late to take this thing out but just to be safe Deuc you might want to get to the point." Kali states as she starts twisting the pipe all around, causing Derek to start forming a puddle of blood underneath him.

"Now you see what the one problem is with being in a alpha pack. Everybody wants to make the decisions. Me? Im more about discovering new talents, like you." Deuc interjects. Oh please, that's the same damn speech he gave me.

"Im not interested." Derek spits out.

"But you haven't even heard my pitch." Deucalion defends.

"You want me to kill my pack." Derek states.

"No... I want you to kill one of them. You do that and I won't have to ask you to kill the others. You'd do it on your own. I did it, Ennis did, Kali did. Tell them what it's like Kali, to kill one of your own." Deuc says.

"Hmmm....liberating." She smiles and leans on the pipe more.

"Listen Derek, you really want to be with teenagers bound to criminal liability? Believe me, they will become a liability. In fact, i have a feeling one of them is getting into trouble right now." Deuc states.

"You see, the reason I'm always invested in new talent is simple. A pack is strong due to it's individual parts. The stronger the individual parts, the greater the whole. When I lost my sight, one of my beta's assumed I wasn't fit for my role anymore. He tried to take it from me. Killing him taught me something i didm't know Alpha's could do, his power was added to mine. I became stronger, faster, more powerful then I'd ever been. I tested it my killing another one, in fact i killed them all. I took the individual parts, and became a greater individual whole." He chuckles. I shivered, remembering it. Deucalion stays a few more things to Derek like how he is the Demon wolf blah blah blah. Kali takes out the pipe and leaves with Ennis and Deucalion. Cora rushes over to Derek as I hop down from the desk. I crouch down next to Derek and touch his wounds. Derek hisses and Cora slapped my hand away.

"Look bitch, I'm not here for you, I'm here for him. So if you would kindly step away and let me help him, I'd be much appreciated." I snap out. I don't give her a chance to answer as I cradle him like a baby and motion Cora over so his lower back is elevated. I put his head on my right thigh and I take his hand and place it in mine. Derek, I know this is super weird and it's gonna be painful but I need to have your blood in my system so I can heal you. I turn his head so I can have more access to his neck. I elongate my canines and pierce his flesh and drink a very small amount. I know kinda vampirish but it is the only way for me to heal him. I remove my head from his neck and I see him look up at me and I look down and match his gaze. I tighten my grip on his hand. I feel the black veins crawl up my arms. I look away from Derek and I feel my vision go a tad bit out of focus. I put more power into it as I transfer his wound onto mine. My vision starts clouding but I feel Derek shoot up and gasp. That's the last thing I hear before I'm out.
