Chapter 10

"Kat. Kat. Wake up." I feel somebody shake me. I roll over and look up. I see Derek in the moonlight looking down on me. I smile a little bit and get up. I yawn ad I stretch making Derek laugh a little. I start putting socks on and I motion Derek towards the window. We make our way to the roof and I show Derek my favorite spot with the perfect view of the neighborhood and all the lights.
"Wow" Derek whispers.
"I know." I gaze with admiration at the view.
"Are you going to tell me?" Derek says. I keep looking forward, something I'll have to do to make it through this story.
"Your not gonna leave me after I tell you this right?" I ask.
"Of course not." He elbows me.
"Okay. Get comfortable, it's a long story." Derek leans on me and keeps look at the view.
"Really?" I ask.
"You said get comfortable. And I am." He says not budging. I sigh and begin the story.
Flashback
I was walking around in the woods since I was bored and it's not like I have to check in with anyone. I hear leaves crunching, yet I wasn't doing it. I turn around and I see a man in sunglasses.
"May I help you sir?" I ask. He walks over to me and bends down.
"What is a little girl like you doing out here all alone?" He asks with curiosity seeping through but something didn't sound right in it.
"I'm not that little." I counter.
"Oh really how old are you?" He asks shaking his head.
"5" I say with pride.
"That's exactly what I mean." He says. He takes off  his sunglasses and I see he has red eyes. I back up a little but don't run.
"Your not afraid?" He asks shocked.
"I'm 5 yes but I'm not stupid. Your an alpha." I reply.
"I'm an alpha. Yet, I know your not human, so what are you?" He asks me.
"Do you wanna see?" I ask. He nods his head. I take a crouching position and I start transforming halfway and look up at him. I transform all the way and he had his mouth open a little bit. I transform back and look up at him.
"Your an amazing little girl." He says grabbing my hands. I small smile makes its way on my face.
"I have a deal for you. Do you want to come and live and train with me so we can reach your full potential and join my pack?" He asks, desperation in his voice.
"Well it's not like I have a family. Why not?" I answer him. He squeezes my hand and we walk back to his warehouse he lived in. I was the first member of his pack. We trained and trained for years, pack members joining every once in a while. Although I was his favorite, his princess as he would say. I was the best in the pack, even better than Deuc. I even taught him some moves. He was like the dad that I once had. Ennis was the first to join. When I saved Chloe and Mason I originally brought them to Deuc, expecting them to be able to join the pack. But that's not what he did. He got jealous because he could see how much they meant to me already. He wanted me to kill them and I was not doing that. We got in an argument and the newest in the pack, Kali, got involved. Deuc went to make a grab for Mason when I said I wasn't going to kill them. I shifted fully instantly and attacked him. All I saw was red and Mason and Chloe had to pull me off before I killed him. He managed to survive with only a few scars, and that's how I found out I left scars when I cut someone.

"So that's what happened. He used to call me his princess and he idolized me, always comparing others to me to allow into the pack. After I left he started to make the Alphas kill their packs and kill anybody in his way. I made him that way. But if I'm being honest I didn't really care about their packs." I say.

"So your just gonna let them kill us? You know we probably can't beat them." He says desperately. I look at him with a fierce glare in my eyes.

"No I actually care about this town if I haven't already proven myself to you and your standards." I spit out. I stand up and start walking towards the window. I hear Derek getting up but I overestimated his steps and knocked into me causing me to fall off the very tall roof, pulling Derek with me by accident. I turn us around so I'm on the bottom. The impact hits me and knocks the wind out of me. I gasp for air and try to sit up. Derek rushes over to me and helps me to a sitting position so I can breathe easier.

"I'm so so so sorry. I didn't mean to. Are you alright?" Derek rushes out. I grab onto his shoulder and hoist myself up, still trying to catch my breath. I hear Mason and Chloe open up the front door and come rushing out. They come to my aid and glare at Derek.

"Are you okay?" Chloe asks me. I nod my head yes and stretch, my bones cracking back into place. All of them wince at the sound. I roll my eyes in annoyance. Babies.

"What happened?" Mason asks me.

"This dumbass accidentally pushed me off the roof." I sigh pointing to Derek. Mason and Chloe look at Derek with anger and starts walking towards him threateningly.

"I should probably go..." Derek turns to walk away but Chloe stops him.

"We saw what happened Derek. It was sweet of you. You looked really sincere and sorry. You should stay the night. It's really late." Chloe says ushering Derek inside. Me and Mason walk together and shake our heads at Chloe.

"Somebody has a crush." I whisper. Derek turns his head to me and shakes his head no and smiles. When we walk in Chloe already has the couch made up and a glass of water set up on the nightstand. Derek already sat down and Mason just elbows me and whispers "good luck" and goes off to bed. I look at Chloe and see her drooling over Derek.

"Chloe go to bed please. You have school tomorrow." I ask with one of my motherly glares. She nods her head and heads upstairs.

"It's cute how you are like a mother to them." Derek's says. He lays back and props his feet up.

"You remind me of my mom." He says after a moment. I raise my eyebrows in surprise. I only met her once and that's just because we ran into each other in our full forms. We made a vow not to tell anyone. From that one time and whenever I'd see her she was always kind to me.

"I'm gonna go to bed. Make yourself comfortable and breakfast is at 7 sharp. If your not down at the table then you don't get breakfast." I walk upstairs and go in my bed. The last thing I hear before I'm knocked out is Derek whispering "just like her."

I hear a noise from upstairs. I bolt up and check my alarm clock.
4:12
"You've got to be shitting me." I whisper to myself. I get up and I see Derek at the other end of the hallway with a confused look on his face. We follow the sound and I hear it in Chloe's room. My eyes bug out and I'm in that room in less than a second. The twins were holding Chloe up by the neck about to slash her throat. I shift instantly and I can feel my eyes change into the Champwat color, something I need to talk to Deaton about. Derek and Mason come in the room as I shift, almost completely.
"Get your hands off my daughter." Some demonic voice replaces mine and all I see is red after that.
