Chapter 128: I Bought Some Beautiful Lingerie!
Yuto did not tell Hiyori everything. He concealed the fact that Ishizaki and the others had reported him to the student council because he did not want her to worry.
"I'm sorry..." Hiyori whispered after hearing what happened. "If I hadn't kept discussing novels with you, they wouldn't have used my name to deceive you."
"Why are you blaming yourself, Shiina? I already told you that I saw through the letter immediately. I chose to attend the meeting myself," Yuto said helplessly.
"Besides, those three classmates of yours couldn't even touch my clothes. I was the one who beat them."
Hiyori smiled softly, her gentle eyes warming.
"You're amazing, Shimizu."
"Exactly. I wasn't injured, and none of this was your fault, so you don't need to apologize."
"...Mm," Hiyori softly replied.
Both Hiyori and Yuto had been victims of the incident. Ryuen had exploited her name simply because she knew Yuto, while Ibuki had confiscated her phone and confined her inside an empty room.
Yuto therefore did not blame Hiyori. Instead, he comforted her and told her not to feel guilty or ashamed.
Hiyori lightly bit her lip.
"Shimizu, perhaps we shouldn't contact each other anymore... Otherwise, Ryuen-kun might use my name to deceive you again."
"Are you frightened, Shiina?"
"Mm... I'm afraid you'll be hurt because of me. With Ryuen-kun's personality, he won't stop here. He might use my name again next time."
"You're very kind, Shiina," Yuto said with a smile.
"I'm not..." Hiyori's soft voice became even quieter as a faint blush appeared on her pale cheeks.
"I understand your concern, but you once said I was your only friend at this school. If you cut ties with me, you won't have any friends left or anyone to discuss novels with."
"...I know. But I'm used to being alone, Shimizu, so I'll be fine."
"All right. If you insist, I won't try to stop you. Still, call me whenever you encounter trouble. We're still friends, after all."
"Mm!"
"Then I'll hang up."
"Mm..."
Hiyori stared at the ended call as her expression gradually became blank. The thought that she would never again sit beside Yuto and happily discuss novels made her feel as though a piece of her heart had vanished.
It felt painfully empty.
In truth, Yuto believed they would soon have no reason to worry about Ryuen. He had already begun planning a counterattack that would force the troublesome delinquent out of school.
Once Ryuen was expelled, Hiyori would be able to meet and speak with Yuto without fear.
After ending the call, Yuto held his phone and closed his eyes, organizing his thoughts.
He possessed powerful evidence capable of proving his innocence, placing him in an unbeatable position.
However, merely defending himself would not satisfy him.
Yuto intended to counterattack and drive Ryuen out of the school completely.
"There's no doubt those three attacked me under Ryuen's orders. The serious injuries they displayed afterward were probably inflicted by Ryuen too."
