CHAPTER 1:

It was my 16th birthday.. I guess the rich girls call it their sweet sixteen and expect a car from rich little daddy that would do anything for his princess. Those girls should be happy they have a dad, and instead of asking for cars they should spend time with their dads.. And moms.. Because I live with my grandparents.

Why do I live with my grandparents you may be asking.. No, I'm sorry to disappoint you all, my mom isn't a druggy, and my dad isn't in a jail cell. I live with my grandparents because my mom and dad died in a car accident when I turned 10. Worse part is.. It was on the way to get me that stupid Barbie doll I wanted so bad.

It was July 21st,2007.it was my tenth birthday and all I had talked about that month was the new Barbie doll with pink hair that changes color in the sun. My parents just kept saying "your birthday is coming, just be patient" but I would throw a little tantrum every time we would pass it in Walmart. At 2:00 pm they left the house and said they had to go get a last minute gift, and left me with grandma and grandpa.

It was exactly 2:34 when the knock at the door came. I had been starring at the clock ever since my parents left and I was super excited for my Barbie. I ran to the door but my grandma and grandpa were already there and blocking the door way. As I tried to find a space to see who was at the door, my grandma broke out in tears as my grandpa grabbed my grandma into his arms and turned his head to look at me. My grandma also lifted up her head, and in sync they both opened up there arms wide, to welcome me into their arms. At that moment, I knew my parents were gone.
