CHAPTER 2:
I woke up and shoved the covers off me. Today was my birthday. "Great." I thought sarcastically in my head. Everyone loves their birthday, but not everyone's parents have died on theirs. I look at the clock and it says "9:26 am" I decided to get up and just get the day over with. I stretched my back and arms as I swung my legs to the side of the bed. I had picked out a baby blue tule dress and a cute little necklace given to me from my aunt, it had a silver locket hanging from the chain, which held the picture of my mom on one side and my dad on the other.
As I put on the dress, I felt as though I was a princess. I like to believe my mom is looking down from heaven at me smiling and telling all the others, "that's my daughter" with a big fat smile stamped on her face. I finished getting dressed.
As I galloped down the stairs, I could hear my grandma and grandpa whispering about a party. "George just give her a chance to prove herself, she is sixteen now honey!" My grandma said. My grandpa just replied"O.K." As soon as I knew they were done whispering, about me obviously.I walked down the stairs as the big smile on my grandmas face greeted me.
"Hi sweetheart!" My grandma said happily
"Hi" I answered with hardly any emotion.
"Hey George," asked my grandma, "isn't it a special young lady's birthday today?"
"Why yes dear, I believe it is!" He replied
"Oh gosh hear it comes..." I say under my breathe. Then it happens. My grandparents break out in "Happy Birthday" and when they get to my name, they of course instead of saying April they decide to say as loud as they can "POOOOPPPIIIIEEEE DOOOOOUUUUGGGH ! Happy birthday to you!" I groan.
