Lost in Bewilderness

Yes! Drugs! Whooh (when I was 10)

I don't know whether mum did this to hurt me, or scar me like Harry Potter was. Or, to even indulge me in pain which never would go away. But on my tenth birthday she decided to break it. It was the most fake and pretentious couple hundred words she had ever spoken.

She sauntered slowly and timely towards the edge of my bed and cautiously sat on my dumpster bed.
"Jadey poo... Hunny, I think I just need a little love. Hunny, come on, smile at me. I have something to tell you." She cooed at me like I was some fetus whose brain was still half developed.

" I want you to change schools, it will be a different school to Lottie and Joseph. It is for the best Hunny" she continued, unaware of my flushing cheeks and overwhelming angst.  A couple of seconds ticking on the clock broke the ice of the silence.

"It's that we're running low on cash and Aneer isn't my supplier anymore."

Did she lose her job? I must've looked really uneasy as I saw a bead of sweat drop on my pillow.

"What." I stated with such force she quivered and blinked twice the usual.
"What supplier.Is there something you aren't telling me?" My angst now developing into a rather hot temperament. 

Mum froze and fixated a piercing dirty stare. "Ok Jade. I guess I told you anyway. Sherlock, I guess you can work out the rest. I do not accept this behavior. Got to go. I'm done with being nice to you ungrateful snitch."
She exited the room without one last look and pronounced herself through one large thump of the door while ironically adding, "enough with the mood swings."

This was perhaps the first time I had ever been truly bewildered she didn't even say anything. For the next hour I laid under my unpainted cealing contemplating life and finally realizing that my my mum was part of a drug sindicate. Actually. She didn't even have a job. While every kid I knew had a lawyer,CEO , entrepreneur or surgeon for their parent I had a drug dealer. Way to go mum.
