POV means point of view. This chapter consists of 3 different POVs.

Cindy POV
I really want to quit. I mean, life would just be easier - so much easier. I really wished I stayed with Jade. I hate all these new people. I hate this new clique, I hate my  my boyfriend? Maybe he isn't my boyfriend, just a boy-fake-friend.

Ryan thinks I am desperate. Yesterday he was like, "What's up luscious Lucy. Want to Netflix and chill all night." The thickness and smugness in his voice is still echoing in my head. He's like a shitty song that's on repeat till my brain is out of charge. No it's not a soft echo, it's as if he is screaming "luscious Lucy" Excepting each word is echoing over the previous word.

Jade's POV
Is something wrong with Lucinda? She seems really dazed lately. As I walked past her in the gym change room she seemed like she was zoning out. I even had to point out to her that she was wearing her top the wrong way. Surely it is none of my business to interfere with Ryan and her but he keeps staring at me. It was at lunch time today. It's weird because Ryan is like Isacc Newton in his brain and Usain Bolt in his athletics. So though he was mesmerizingly popular and 'cool', he somehow found his way stalking me (from my locker) into the chemistry lab for a class that I had to catch up on.I was already imagining what could unfold in the space of a lunch study session. I had no empathy on Lucinda, but I was not interested into being part of some high school love triangle. This surely must have been a dream, no boy has ever been interested in me.

Before I told Ryan to go stuff himself and be a loyal boyfriend to Lucinda, I grunted, "Go."

"Yo Jane!" He said. He didn't get the message in what 'go' meant. Instead he took the word 'go' as a cue to speak.

"It's Jade." I said as slowly and disinterested as possible. I continued, accentuating the D in my name, "JA-DE, doesn't want to talk to you, help you or date you or help you cheat on Lucinda."

For both our sakes I yelled at him and put on my feminist front,
"Women aren't objects okay? You can't just go up to one an expect her to date you or whatever you dream about. We aren't all bikini models, not all of us have society's definition of beauty, and we do NOT endure 12 years of schooling to fall pregnant just to become your housewife okay? You don't deserve Lucinda and Lucinda doesn't deserve you."
Shit. I didn't not just say that. I did   not just sound like some jealous 'secretly gay-for-Lucinda' bitch. Freaking hell. They were all staring at me . Ryan was gone. Had I been hallucinating the whole time? Was he just a figment of my imagination?  Was I dreaming and screaming half asleep? Why was Ryan on my mind so much. As annoyingly cliche as it sounds, this was all just a dream. Annoying, but to my relief.

My chemistry teacher, Ms Doreen said in her Texan accent right after I opened my eyes and suddenly sprang up in my chair, " So what is the answer to question one A? It appears to me that sleeping in class is more important to you than studying for your upcoming exam. So I pray that you already know the answer."

I stuttered and sluggishly replied, " The answer to question one A is peroxide. Peroxide is used to bleach hair."

"Wrong." She replied.

"Well I don't know, why don't you ask someone else who actually cares about their exam?" I retorted raising my eyebrows which anyway couldn't be seen through my fringe.

Someone laughed from behind. Someone actually laughed at my joke.
It was Ryan, just as I turned to him the teacher then asked him the same question...
Ryan POV

Hair peroxide and bleaching? Really?! I thought Jade wasn't into that type of shit. Why else would she give a stupid answer. Unless she was thinking of bleaching her hair like Lucinda. She still looks prettier than Lucinda. Beforehand Cindy came up to me, in an attempt of confrontation ,"Why you acting up so lately? Aren't you even interested in me? I'm getting really c-"

Ms Doreen screamed and snapped me back into reality away from my endless trail of thoughts. She then slammed her mug on the mahogany desk and said with each word overpowering the hushed classroom, "Ry.an.What.Is.The.Answer.To.Que.stion.one? You better wake up from your dream or I'll send you with Miss Daydreamer to the front office." She pointed towards Jade, who then scowled at me in annoyance or even worse, anger.

I jokingly replied knowing it was a ticket to detention, "The answer you are looking for is peroxide. It's known to bleach dark souls."

Jade smiled and turned to me. I put out my hand she gave me a high five.

"Way to go Ryan!" she whispered in her hollow voice, right before Ms Doreen sent us to the front office.
