Chapter 2

Karlie pov:

I stopped at Mitches driveway and gave him a kiss. "I'll come back in an hour." I said pulling out of his driveway.

A smirk crept on his face "hurry back" he said a little demanding.

I stopped the car and looked at him "don't tell me what to do or you can fuck yourself tonight."

I put the car in drive and headed back to the hotel. "Where are we going?" Ashley asked.

"To the hotel. Megan's not staying there. Especially if she has a child." I said while pulling into a parking space.

"No Karlie. You don't even know the room number" he protested.

"Well I'm going to get the room number" I stated and got out of the car.

I went to the front desk and asked for her room number.

"Ma'am I can't give it to you." He said In a stern voice.

Ashley ran up behind me and I leaned in closer to the guy and whispered "if you know what's good for you, you'll give it to me now.. if not I'll cause a scene right here. Right now."

The man instantly started typing "room 103" he replied.

I turned around and smiled "see Ashley. Told you I'd get it" I stepped into the elevator.

"Come on Karlie. Let's not do this." Ashley whined.

"Oh hush, I'll do what I damn well please. This hotel is garbage and you know that!" The door opened and we walked down the hall.

I got to 103 and I heard Megan talking to somebody.

"No Josh.. listen.. I can't be with you. Why? Because you're fucking abusive.....No I can't have you yelling at Alexis anymore.. no don't-"

I heard her throw her phone and sniffle. Then i heard little footsteps and a soft voice saying "Mommy are you okay?"

I heard her sigh and say "I'm fine baby, get ready for a bath. I'll be in there in a minute."

For the first time I was thinking about turning back and not going through with my original plan. But I decided to push through that.

I gently knocked on the door. There was a slight hesitation and then she opened it.

She looked at me so shocked "Karlie?" She whispered.

I looked back and Ashley was staring at her. I snapped my fingers infront of his face "don't stare you creep."

He looked shy and whispered "sorry."

Megan opened the door and invited us in. The hotel rooms were more gross than what I remembered.

Her little girl ran out of the bathroom and stood beside Ashley and smiled really big "I remember youuuu" she said poking at his leg.

I smiled. Ashley looked so happy he's never smiled that big. He picked her up "I remember you too." He said In a soft tone. Ashley was occupied with Alexis.

So I looked over to Megan "come on. Pack you shit. We're taking you somewhere else."

She shifted awkwardly on the couch "I don't have much money. This place will do for 2 nights."

"No it wont. You can go to Ashleys." I said putting my arm around her.

She looked at me terrified "don't worry, he's my best friend. Seriously the best guy you'll ever meet." I reassured her.

Ashley and I grabbed her bags as Megan and Alexis got into the car.

Ashley lifted the big garbage bag "I guess she was thinking that they'd have to sleep outside. This thing is filled with blankets and coats... anyways where are we taking them?"
