chapter 43

Maggie's pov

Cameron said "baby it is okay." I said "no it isn't he wants me back so he can beat me." Cameron said "we won't allow him baby,we fully adopted you he can't do that." I said "yes he can,if he was able to send a letter he can do it." Cameron sighed. Cameron kissed my cheek.

Cameron said "I love you baby girl and I'm not gonna let him take you." I nodded my head. Cameron put me on his lap. I learned on his chest. I closed my eyes and went to sleep.

Skip to court date

Maggie's pov

I been crying for days. I had to go to. I had to talk if I wanted to go with my dad or stay with Cameron and Nash.

I put on a blue dress with blue vans. I put on a beanie it was blue too. I had my phone in my bra just in case.

We are wait ing for them to call our name so we can start. I see my dad walk by. He tried to talk to me. Cameron stood in front of me and said "excuse me." It was our turn.

Nash and Cameron and I was standing in front of a table. We sat down. My father started talking. He said "your honor Maggie was taken from me and her mother when she was only 10. Her mother is devastated. Maggie is my oldest child. I have a son that is only 7 years old. He never met his sister."

I know the mathe isnt right since Maggie was adopted when she was 10 and she would of known him but just act like it does.

That killed me. My father has a son. I have a brother. He is only 7. Is my father and mother hurting him too? He is still just a kid.

Cameron said "you honor we adopted Maggie because of her father and how abusive he was,he cant get her back. Last time Maggie saw her father was when she was 10 and went in a coma from him beating her. Nash and i adopted Maggie. Mr.Ried is suppised to be in jail,he is put because of a mistake. We had Maggie for three years. Maggie didnt even know her fathers name or her mothers name when we met her and she was 10 living with them. Maggie wasn't taken. She was adopted and he was mad."

My father said "Maggie is my biological child. She is mine. I love her. I want to see my daughter grow up. I want her to meet her brother. I want my family to be toghether again. Yes your honor i made mistakes but i just want my family again."

The judge said "the court is in favor of Mr.Ried." I said "are you kidding me!?!?!" Tye judge said "Ms.Dallas stop before i put you in contempt of court." I said "please do at least i wouldn't have to go with him!!" The judge said "that is it,send her to the chambers."

Cameron's pov.

Nash bailed Maggie out. We had to wait for what the judge thinks. And if she is confused we have to let Maggie talk.

Maggie has just been crying.

I said "Maggie calm down." Maggie said "i have a littoe brother Cameron and he lives with my father who is abusive. " I said "baby I know but if you meet him and he is being abused, we will help him." Maggie said " but I am gonna go back there and I don't want to go back."

Maggie cried into my chest. I soothed her. It didn't work. Maggie wouldn't work.

Next day at court

Maggie's pov

I was waiting for them to call my name. I saw my father come. He said "I can't wait for you to come home,you can finally see what you have done to your brother when you left,you bitch." I sat down. I am gonna go back and I know it.

I had my phone. I had a note that was ready to be sent. I didn't send it. I heard someone call "MAGGIE GRIER DALLAS!" I stood up and fixed my dress.

I went in the court. Everyone looked at me. I got a little anxious. I hate it when I am the center of attention.

I stood in the middle of the two tables. The judge said "Ms.Dallas who would you like to go with?" I said "Cameron and Nash." The judge said "well your father wants you to love with him." I said "I don't wanna go with him he is gonna hurt me." The judge said "please tell the court why you should stay with Mr.Dallas and Mr.Grier."

I turned around and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in.

I said "I want to stay with Cameron and Nash because they was the first people to ever tell me they love me. My father never told me he loved me,he told me that he hated me and everything was my fault. Nash taught me how to ride a bike when I was 11 years old. Cameron taught me not to be scared all the time. They both taught me things that my father never did. This whole time my father talked about how he missed me and how he loves me,but he doesn't know a thing about me."

I asked "do you know my birthday?" My father said "yes I do it is October 16,2002." I said "what is my favorite color?" My father said hot pink." I said "do I have a disease?" My father said "no." I said "how old am I?" My father said "you are 15 Maggie."

I said "Cameron,what is my favorite color?" Cameron said "red." I said "do I have a disease?" Nash said "you have asthma but I don't really think it is a disease." I smile a little at his little joke.

I said "how old am I?" Cameron and Nash said "13 and counting."

I laughed in my head at how they still said it even when we was in court.

I said "they know way more about me then my father can,and picked have asthma,I could have an asthma attack and he doesn't know." The judge said "thank you Ms.Dallas"

I sat down in the middle of Nash and Cameron. Nash kissed my forehead and Cameron kissed my cheek. I leaned on Nash shoulder.

The people on the side left. We left the court to wait for what they think. I was sitting by myself. My father came over. He said "you aren't that smart. You are mine. No matter what you are coming back with me bitch and get ready for you beating,you tried to leave makes it worse bitch,you and your fucking brother!!"

Nash came over to me. Nash said "baby come on,the jury is back." I nodded my head as I went to Nash. Nash said "are you okay?" I said "I will be fine."

We went on the court and stymied. Then we sat then we stood again. The lady said "we favor in Mr.Ried and we believe he should get his child back." The judge said "all in favor of Mr.Ried,he is now the legal gardin of Maggie."

I didn't know what to do. The noises got muted. I was looking at my dad,then I turned around and face Nash. Then it is all black.
