*Scarlett*

I listened to see if I could hear footsteps upstairs..nothing.

He's gone.

He's gone and he left the door at the top of the stairs wide open..and I have a deck of cards.

I can finally leave!

I need to act fast so I have time to reach the police and get him in jail before he comes home and notices I'm gone. I mean, he wouldn't normally check on me until dinner so I have time.

I look around the room to see if there is anything I should take with me. My eyes stop on the drawer of the nightstand.

Bingo!

The night I got here, I hid my phone and purse in the nightstand. This dude was too stupid and drunk to notice I brought stuff with me. You're probably asking yourself "if he was that drunk, why didn't you fight him off?" and that's a good question..but I just wasn't going to. It'll make sense later.

I grabbed my stuff and grabbed the deck of cards. I took one card out and carefully put it in the crack of the door, where the lock was. I moved the card up and down until I heard the little click noise. I smiled and winced in pain again.

It's time.

I turned my phone on and looked at my calendar to see what today is. August 15th, 2015 at 9:30 am. Wow, it's been a long time.

All of my missed texts/calls started to come through. This is exactly why I didn't turn my phone on until I knew I could escape..now I have access to getting someone to help me fast.

I put my phone away and slowly opened the door. Just like I thought, I found the door wide open at the top of the stairs.

I walked upstairs and quickly started looking for some cash because I wasn't sure if I'd need to get a hotel or not.

Aha!

I walked over to his wallet sitting on the counter next to a couple of beer bottles. I opened the wallet and took $500 out of his wallet. I was about to put the wallet back down when I noticed his ID card.

I might as well take it to help identify him to the police.

I took the cash and his ID card and put them in my purse. It's go time.

I walked to the door, took a deep breath, and opened the door to step outside.

Freedom.
