Whilst on this quest, Annabeth's feelings, and memories towards Luke, came running back, as she was reminiscing due to the encounter and making her re-evaluate Luke and Thalia, as those are her big sibling figures in her life and those are who she depended on most...and thought of most.
Especially in their hideout they had stumbled upon, it made her think.

The raft-boat thing they had exploded, luckily they weren't in it, but Clarisse had appeared near, and that was an opportunity...but Clarisse is stubborn, and had to duke it out with Percy.
Alice rubbed her temple.
"I saw luke, earlier" Annabeth whispered before Annabeth got rid of Clarisse's option.
"You- i'm not unpacking that, nope" Alice said, although they're on the ship with Clarisse, going through the quiet, understanding... that this was hard for Annabeth too.
Decisions are rough, tough and difficult, to those you have and understand during difficult times like quests.
More reminiscing on Thalia and Luke, for Annabeth. She loved them, and it was major problem in her heart even if she had been tasked to distance herself from Luke, more so due his alignment.

There had been loss and winds, in the sea of monsters, a majority that was a rough and tumble, trying to work through. This could get people separated, and this was a plan they'd be willing to risk as to save everyone at camp. A whole other talk.
