1-----------------------------------------------

I open my eyes to the familiar sight of the four moons sparkling in the night.  They're the only recognizable things still here. They give off just enough light to make out ruins just below me. A light haze of red over the hill burns my village, my home. The one thing that the fire has left alone is a lone Pocontos tree where my parents are buried, but, soon that may burn as well.

I know one thing. This wasn’t an accident.

I scan the village's ashes for signs of life. Did they do this?I wondered.  the leader’s cabin; now is  smoldering red pieces of wood. The fire surrounding it is hot blue. It makes the night sky look violet.  I move toward it. I can feel myself shaking. I spot movement from the fire. I brace myself. My mind is filled with thoughts of what it could be. I stop in my tracks as a hand shoots out scrapping along a piece of wood not yet licked by the fire.  My heart leaps as I notice she has blond extremely familiar hair. I hesitate before moving toward her staying on the alert.

I try to be silent as I tread along the ruins but the sickening cracking sound erupts every time I take a step. I see what I’m stepping on are bones. I can't help but try to see if I knew them. My stomach feels sick. I return my attention to the dying girl. As I come closer the orange frightened eyes bring a memory to mind. I know her. She is one of my kind.

I stumble along areas where the fire has not yet touched, cracking wood as I go. I finally reach her but the fire is coming closer. Her eyes gaze at me bright, pupils dilated. The fire makes her orange eyes look lighter.

I shuffle her over to her side trying to be gentle to see her wounds. She's going to die. Her whole body is covered with blood I can hear she’s having trouble breathing already. Desperation fills me.

“Help me.” She croaks and reaches her blood crusted hand toward me. I grab it desperately. A tear drops of my cheek. Her eyes are fading. It's an all too familiar sight now.

“Stay with me. I’ll save you.” I say. Even though doubt it myself. I hear foot steps behind me. I turn around and try to hide her behind me. But my enemy sees her; she holds a gun towards my head. Then five more appear out of seemingly nowhere. One of them to the left looks at my dying friend smirks then shoots.  I don't look behind me. I glare at the soldier.

A scar covers half her face. She smirks at me. "She would've died anyway. Like you are my friend." Her accent is strong and Scottish.

I glare at her. Then at the other soldiers. I have nowhere to run. All escape routes have been blocked so I think. What do I do? I feel like screaming at them or lunging at them, yet all I do is stare. My enmity burns for them. I will avenge her. Even in death I will find away. She shoots…

"Declan stop complaining. you'll scare Willow." I try to say but my vioce is meek like I've been yelling in my sleep.

He doesn't hear me.  He goes on oblivious to me being awake. ”Vandara should’ve told you about the PRA. You know how are home is called Paradas. They call it paradise. You know what I don’t get is why do they pick us in the northern part of Kiavamie of all tribes for fifteen years now, Paradise ha! I wonder what their homes like. Is it a frozen waste-land? I have no idea why they come here and I’d be happy if they left. Very.”I get up out of my bed and see that Willow is listening intently and has already noticed I’m up. She glances up at me sadly her dark green eyes wide.
