Max:

This night surely didn't go as planned, the last thing Max expected tonight was Bradley to confess his romantic feelings for him.

Though it was a huge shock, it was all Max had wanted even if he didn't know that fully in the moment, after they hugged he was sure it was everything he had been hoping for.

Bradley had been embracing Max for awhile, not awkward just right. However Max was ready to test Bradley's feelings.

Max's arms had been just under Bradley's as he started to slowly bring his hands up to cup Bradley's face. Bradley lifted his head from Max's shoulder and they looked at one another.

They stayed this way for a bit, Max soothing Bradley's face as he put his heads weight on his hand and it once again felt like nothing else either of them had ever felt.

Max was ready to kiss him, he wanted to kiss him.

Max began to lean in, closing his eyes slightly as he felt Bradley moving closer into him.

Just as Max had started to feel the warmth of Bradley's face and right as their lips met,

Bradley's phone rang.

Time felt like it had froze, for just a second they stayed in place. Lips barely grazed and their skin interlocked. For just a second.

Quickly, Bradley retreated from the center console and found his phone

"Eleanor?? Where the hell are you guys??"

.
.
.

Bradley:

Eleanor was panicked and I could tell she had been crying as she explained that Ian had gotten electrocuted.

Apparently, a stadium light pole was cut down as a protest to the venues "open carry" guidelines.
As Ian and Eleanor were exiting, the top of the light pole had reached Ian's back leg and electrocuted him, paramedics were sending him down as Eleanor was panicked inside the venue.

"Stay where you are, I'm going to come meet you. It's okay." responded Bradley  as he had already exited the car and shut the door.

The phone hung up and Max frantically followed behind.

"Bradley what's going on?"

"An accident, Ian is being rushed to the hospital, we have to hurry and find Eleanor"

The conversation was direct and informational, as if nothing happened in the car 2 minutes prior, as if Max was an afterthought now.

Bradley hadn't even remembered, he was solely focused on Eleanor's safety.

"They won't let us in Bradley. The officer already told you"
Cried max as he grabbed Bradley's shoulder

Bradley jerked quickly
"Well I have to try. She's in there alone and crowded and scared. We have to help her!"

As they approached the front entrance, the same officer stood to greet them.

"You can't go in there, I told you. Stay in your cars this is dangerous."

Bradley explained the situation and pleaded to just let her exit, the officer brought them into his office and with enough sympathizing and convincing, he let Eleanor go.

Bradley jumped when he saw her, he hugged her tight and rubbed her back for awhile
"It will all be okay, I'm sorry you have to go through this."

They exited the office to the car and soon enough, the lockdown had lifted, they rushed to the nearby hospital where Ian was being held.

While Eleanor was checking them in at the front desk, Bradley and Max sat side by side.

"I don't understand how this happened, it was supposed to be a normal night. How did everything plummet so fast?"
Brady was talking low and he had his hand expanded across his legs.

Max wasn't sure what to say so he stayed silent as he nodded.

"It wasn't supposed to go this way. Everything was finally looking up for everyone. Here we are, back at square one."

Bradley covered his face in his hands as his head hang low. He was distraught and the mix of Ian in the hospital, Eleanor's current state of shock, and Max's feelings, it was all too much for one night.
