Max:
The rest of the night felt like forever. Bradley was stressed, Eleanor was all kinds of mess, while Max tried to keep himself composed and awake.

Ian turned out to be okay, he would have to stay at the hospital for about a week to see how he recovers but when we woke up, it was clear he was going to be just fine.

The drive home was quiet, and after Bradley turned the key to the dorm, he headed straight for his room.

"So that's it huh? We're not going to talk about it?"

Asked Max, he was irritated and rightfully so. Bradley can't just pretend tonight didn't happen. Sure there was a lot on his plate but this needed to be worked out or who knows where it would go.

Bradley stopped at his door, clinging to the wood.

"Max. There's nothing to talk about."

Bradley hadn't even been facing Max as he talked, his voice was cold and exhausted.

Max chuckled for a second though he wasn't happy

"Are you kidding me? Seriously Brad is that how it is??!"

It was 2 in the morning and Max was in shock, out of all responses that wasn't the one he'd expected.

Bradley was silent, for a long time he stood facing his room.

"Whatever happened in the car, it was an act of impulse. Don't take it too personal Max"

His voice once again, slow and distant. He wasn't mean with his words, more so firm and clear.

Max could feel his heart like it was being squeezed in someone's hand. Not only that but he had felt incredibly stupid for what he had believed of Bradley earlier. For what he had believed of Bradley since the dorms, he was no different of a person than the one that cheated in the X games, selfish and heartless.
Max could see now, Bradley only cared about himself, not what he was doing to Max or the friendship that had blossomed. Here, he was protecting only himself, Max wanted no part in someone like that anyway.

"Fine. If that's how it is."

Max walked into his room and shut the door with enough force to prove he was angry but not too much to be ridiculous.

That night Max couldn't sleep, he tossed and turned but he stayed up past daylight until he could finally sleep and he slept his whole Sunday away.
