Devary and Joshua led a group of ten through one New York's deserted ghettos. They were on the hunt, not for prey, well, not really anyway. More like a diversion. They found one when they happened across a female Changeling , although from his roof top vantage point that was all Talon could make out, aside from her deep red hair. The chase began almost immediately as the group surrounded the hapless victim, driving her to a frenzy of screaming. Talon knew that the Night Crew from Irbis's Family had heard it; they were only a few streets away and you'd have to be human and deaf to not hear the commotion. He watched the group split in two as they rounded the corner of the block, the plan being to cut the girl off at the next street corner. Adrenaline pumped as Talon rotated his shoulder blades, great, tawny hawk wings spread wide. He smiled to himself, it was time to rescue a damsel in distress.

"Did you hear that?" Jax called from inside the van. I was already thrusting my hands into specially made gloves. Fire proof and palm less, I could still burn things but my fingers were covered so I could at least pick something up without melting it. Marshall, Midnight, Sterling, and Jason had their wings out ready for flight.

"Of course we did," I called back, but Artemis, Raeah, and Jax were already jumping from the back. "I want Flyers in the sky!" Jax yelled, "We'll follow on land." The Flyers took to the air with grace and speed and Artemis was already tasting the air with her pink tongue.

"I smell Dev," She told Jax, and my skin crawled at the thought, but to save the woman that was screaming somewhere in the night I was willing to face Drake's lapdog. We waiting some agonizing moments for a Flyer to radio us a location, but they didn't and seconds later the attack sounded close enough that we found it without the Flyers help.

Raeah got there first, feet flying so fast they were a blur across the pavement. Jax and I closed in together, and behind me I heard a click as Artemis's spring loaded knifes slid free of the bracers on her forearms.

Raeah had a fight started with a Leopard-type, her pale skin in contrast with the Leopard's dark skin as they grabbled on the sidewalk. "Help those two!" Jax yelled at Artemis and me as he gestured toward what seemed to be the victims of the Gangs attack as he squared off against Dev.

Looking in the direction he had pointed my brain stuttered as my eyes took in something they just weren't ready for.

The Wolf-type that had stabbed me in Hoboken had some sort of bird type pinned against the wall of a building, Joshua- that was what Jax had called him. Their hands were interlocked as the Bird fought to kept Joshua clawed hands from sinking into his chest. That wasn't the strange part of course, that was what was next to them. A girl struggled against the same building, pushing against it with her furred fingers as she screamed. She appeared to be stuck to the structure by the head; anchored there by a...horn...that protruded from her forehead.

"Can you help her?" I asked Artemis, still a little stunned. "I don't think I should..." I glanced down at my palms, the last thing I wanted to do was burn the girl. Artemis nodded her understanding and we quickly ran to their aid.

I lost sight of Artemis as I gripped Joshua's leather jacket by the shoulders and spun him around; the rancid smell of burning leather filling the space between us. The bird type used the opening to duck out from behind the Wolf and I noticed his wings briefly as he did; Hawk-type. I also noticed he was bleeding as he scrabbled across the sidewalk to stand unsteady behind me.
