Cassidy's POV:-
As soon as the sun hits my skin, I take in a deep breath and exhale slowly...absorbing its heat. The birds are chirping away happily and the flowers are blossoming. I moved in the quaint town of Piedmont situated on the outskirts of Seattle after Dylan's birth. I didn't want a reflection of my past on my child's life.
Walking towards my coffee shop, I notice a boy around 4 and his father playing in the nearby garden. As I stood there, watching them in awe, I wondered whether my baby boy will ever meet his father one day or at least have a father figure in his life. I pushed aside the depressing thoughts and continue my walk towards the coffee shop.
I reached the coffee shop just in time for the opening. I keep my bag in the cabinet under the cash counter and make my way towards the kitchen. I tie an apron around myself and pull my hair in a messy bun and start preparing the cookies. I turn on the coffee machine and music system and soon the shop if filled with the velvety voice of Ed Sheeran. Soon, the customers start to rush in.
Around noon, a man with muscular built, wearing a deep charcoal suit and ray bans enters the shop. "Miss.Hastings?", he enquires with a cold and deep baritone that sends chills down my spine. "Y-yeah", I stutter. He hands me a letter with my name on it. Taking the letter from him I eye it suspiciously. As I lift my hear to ask him from who the letter is...he is already out of the shop. My mind clouded with a lot of possibilities from whom this letter could be. I am snapped out of my thoughts by yet another customer. I put the letter in my bag and continue with my work. And just like that I forget all about the letter.
The rest of the day passes by in a blur. It was around 8 in the evening that I close my shop and make my way towards my house. As I was nearing my safe haven, I noticed two SUVs parked outside my house. I noticed the same man from afternoon that gave me the letter standing next to the car. I reached the door and opened it to the booming laughter of a man and giggles of my son.
