The morning had arrived as i could feel the sun burning through my eyelids. Why couldn't Alice just shut the god damn blinds? Oh yeah because shes just Alice, thats the way she is, thats the way its always been and thats the way its staying.
I do love her, even though she may be annoying or clumsy at times shes my bestfriend and we've been stuck together since we were 3. As for her brother, her twin brother might i add I've known him all my life too. He basically treats me like a second sister. He doesn't look like Alice though, they're not identical and Alice is like a complete different person.
Brody is the popular boy at school, all the girls love him where as Alice is less involved like that. Everyone still knows who she is, and i think everyone loves her just as much as her brother because shes so kind and funny and really pretty. Thats enough about the Smiths for now. Time to hit her with a pillow for allowing the light to awake me from my precious precious sleep. If you know me you should know how much i cherish sleep, if i don't get enough i wont be a happy bunny.
"Aliceeee wakee upppp" i protested.
"Whattt" she groans.
"You didn't shut the blinds so now Im awake which means YOU have to get up too". I nagged.
"Fine" she huffed.
With my mission accomplished i climb out of bed and take a glance in the mirror to greet my beautiful morning face. Don't you look attractive Emma. I take a big stretch and yawn as i do so. I brush the hair out of my face to grab my now dry onesie after last nights incident. Oh god last night! How can i face chad at breakfast? Can i just hide in a corner already! Before i had time to think over my plan to get away somehow by climbing out of Alice's bedroom window without breaking my neck or getting caught, we were on our way downstairs. That wouldn't happen anyway. In your dreams Emma this isn't an action movie you cant just jump out of a window when you need to get away.
We were just about to go into the kitchen and i could hear the boys laughing so i knew they were all awake.
"And the dead finally awake from their sleep" Brody cackles.
"Morning to you too bro" Alice says bluntly.
I stand there awkwardly waiting for someone to cut the silence.
"So we're all starving you better start cooking sis" Brody bragged.
"You know Im the worst cook so I don't know why your asking me" she said.
A bunch of sighs were released, everyone must have been hungry but nobody was willing to cook. See the thing is he probably thinks she can cook because every time he comes down we're eating a luxury breakfast cooked by ME!
"Yeah she always makes me do the cooking, shes so lazy" i butt in.
Everyone turns towards me with grins as if Id just won the lottery.
"What?" I question
"Will you do the honours of cooking your amazing friends breakfast seen as you're the only one who can cook something without burning the house down" Brody pleads.
"You sure do make delicious pancakes" Alice added whilst nudging me.
"Fine pancakes it is" i give in. I couldn't let them starve because i would end up feeling guilty. Yep thats me vulnerable old Emma who helps everyone without anything in return.
Everybody smiles and begins to take their places at the table. 1,2,3,4.. & me. So thats 5 people and a lot of pancakes to cook. I crack a few eggs and mix them in with a couple more ingredients to bring together my secret pancake recipe. I started frying them and placing them on plates in piles of 3 or 4 on top of each other topped off with some golden syrup. I have to admit they look and smell really good. Alice walked over and started to hand out the plates that were ready to be served. First Brody, then Logan followed by Chad and lastly the two plates for me and her which i carried over to the table. Everyone dug in and gobbled down the pancakes within a few minutes. I think that was a sign that they liked them. Well as long as their stomachs were full i was happy. I walked over to the fridge to grab some orange juice. As the massive door opened i grabbed hold of the carton and was about to make my way back to the table. As i slammed shut the fridge door a familiar face appeared and scared the hell out of me. Chad.
Jesus boy give me notice when you're near then maybe i can prepare myself for having a heart attack.
"God don't jump out on me like that you scared the life outta me" i said.
"Sorry cant help it, and did you just call me god? I knew you worshiped me" he babbled.
I rolled my eyes and gave him a blunt "Really, you a god? Emphasising the you. "Don't think so mr.Im so stuck up my own ass i might get lost". I added.
"Nice pancakes babe" he smirks.
I know i should be a little angry with him right now but he just called me... He called me babe. Babe? Ive always seen that word as tacky and unattractive but boy he made it sound so much more than attractive.
"Don't get used to it" i reply smoothly.
I then turn around and walk back to the cupboard to grab a glass. I then sit back down. Eyes are focused on me as i pour the OJ into my cup. Why is everyone staring at me? I pretend to be unaware of this as i sip some of my drink. Still i feel eyes continue burning into my skull. I decide to lift my head up and find out if everybody was actually looking at me and guess what, they were. I look back to Chad standing by the countertop and then back to everyone else. With no one speaking still i decided to put an end to this as i don't like whatever is going on because its making me feel uncomfortable.
"Is there something on my face or are you all just perverts?" I declared.
Everyone let out a laugh. Great everybody can just laugh at me while i sit here completely unaware.
"Well?" I add
"Nothing, don't worry" Brody mutters.
Obviously they were all listening in on mine and Chads conversation by the fridge. It weren't even like we were flirting so i couldn't care less. I decided to ignore whatever assumptions they had made.
"Mhmm" i say as i put my plate on the side and walk back to Alice's room. Time to get ready for whatever we planned to do today. Everyone else eventually followed behind.
Well that was awkward.
