Dancing in the Dark

We laid in the dark for a little while longer. It stopped raining by now, but it was still pretty nice out. Danny took my hand and helped me up. We walked to his car holding hands. When we got in the car the song Dancing in the Dark by Bruce Springsteen came on. Danny got out of the car and opened my door, and turned the radio up.

“Come on. This could be our song!” He said and gave me an adorable smile. I took his hand.

The funny thing is we are dancing in the dark, and were singing….well screaming the lyrics to the song. We weren’t dancing romantically, but goofy and fun.

I started laughing at him for doing the worm, in the mud, getting his shirt all dirty. It was just fun being around him.

When the song finished we walked back to the car. He drove home, with his hand resting on my knee. I smiled. I couldn’t believe I was actually going out with him! When we pulled in the driveway I ran inside. I needed to talk to Gi. ASAP! I ran in with a stupid grin on my face and Danny followed.

“I need to talk to you!” I said and grabbed Gi’s arm and tried to run upstairs.

“HOLD ON! Where have you been?” Sam asked.

“Ohh um well I was walking and then Danny found me and we were like “OMG! Let’s watch the sunset!” So we did and then we listened to the Bruce Springsteen album and yeah.” I said in a rush trying to get away from them as fast as I could.

“You know, you could have called!” He said.

“Yeah but my phone was here!” I said pointing to it on the table. Sam just shook his head at me.

“Are you hungry? We have pizza.” He said.

“Yes!” I said. I didn’t realize how hungry I was. I grabbed two slices.

“Well what was this thing you were so excited to talk to Giovanna about?” Harry asked. I glared at him. Sam gave me a questioning look.

“Um well it was this post on facebook that her..” I looked up trying to think of some lie.

“That my brother posted. It’s an inside joke between the three of us.” Gi finished. I looked at her and smiled.

“Yep! GOOSESPRING!” I said and we both laughed. I felt like I was high from kissing Danny so much. Luckily my laugh didn’t come out fake. They all just gave us weird looks.
