The next day i still couldn't shake the strange feeling left by the girl. I got out of bed and got a cup of coffee. I walked into the sun room to see Sophia and Diane sitting on the couch. Sophia was Jake's 14 year old sister and Diane was their 45 year old mother who was also my foster mother at the moment.
"hi guys." i said as i slipped into the chair in the corner.
"hello Lylith!" Diane said with a small smile and tired eyes as she was about to take another sip of coffee.
After finishing my coffee i wondered where Jakob was so i put my cup in the sink and dragged my feet up the stairs. I knocked on the door but my hands were weak and tired so i opened the door realizing he wouldn't hear me knocking. I was suprised to see the bed empty and the window wide open with a rope hanging out of it.
I went to my room and got dress as quickly as possible before grabbing my bag and running out the door which I'm sure hinted to Diane that Jake had snuck out again. I looked around the streets wondering which way to check this time and I went Left and towards his friend Gabes house.
