General: POV
They thought everything would be normal after the amount of tragic events happening lately, but all they felt was jinxed even though Amelia especially doesn't believe in anything like jinxes or religion of any sort she was really questioning her opinion.
The house was cold. They turn the heat down at night, so when they wake up the wood floors are cold. It saves energy, and money which they don't need to do since they both have high paying jobs. They were aware that happy things and sad things happen, out of everyone they know it the best, but they just want happy things to happen.
The are now sitting at the the counter in the middle of the kitchen "island" as some people call it, and they are eating oatmeal. The scrapes of the spoons were the only noise in the room.
"I know what we should name the baby," Amelia said breaking the Silence. Owen looked up, but didn't say anything.
"We should name her Evelyn after your mother," Amelia tried to get him to talk. Owen has been pretty quiet since his mom passed, but it's expected especially since the funeral is today.
"That sounds nice," he said trying a smile. Amelia smiled back a little bit and put her hands on her belly. Amelia wore a black shift dress and Owen wore a suit. Owen put his hand over Amelia's stomach.
"I love you," he said reassuringly.
"I love you too," she answered and they smiled.
"We should get going," he said abruptly standing up.
The funeral was small. Only a few people showed. Evelyn didn't have very many friends. The only thing Owen was thinking about was that Evelyn will never meet her granddaughter. She'll never be able to sit at the dinning table till 1am laughing about past family holidays. She'll never be able to have conversations about motherhood over coffee with Amelia even though that's not Amelia's thing. She will miss everything.
