"Oh, Haeri, I thought you're not coming?" Our Manager said. I was like an hour late. And of course, I didn't tell him what happened last night. What I told him was I was just too tired yesterday and I had a good deep sleep and didn't heard the alarm."Is that so? Well, okay but that will be deducted to you salary okay?" I nod and went straight to the locker.
I can't help but to think about the things that Reuel told me. It bugged me, to be honest. As much as I can remember, when I was a kid I used to read bible. It says there that each one of us has their own guardian angel. Well, if that's Reuel then why does he talk like that to me? Angels are supposed to be devine but he's not.
"Haeri, see the guy there? He was like staring to you since he got here." one of my staff told me after I got out of the locker room. I looked at the said guy and my eyes widened when I knew who it was. Guardian Freaking Angel. He smiled at me.
My staff giggled, "I think he's into you."
Huh, if this girl only knew.
"I think he's not. He's not even familiar." I said whild walking towards the counter. "Customer 21 needs a extra cup of coffeeㅡ" I stopped talking when I realized that the staff I was talking to was gone. My eyes looked for her and found her walking towards the angel.
"This girl seriously is such an asshole." I murmured. Before making another cup of cofee for the customer.
"Here's your coffee. Enjoy!" I smiled at the customer as I placed his coffee on the table.
"Hey Haeri!" the staff called me, "Mr. Reueln said he wants to talk to you."
"I'm busy."
"But he said that you were friends before." she said after glancing once back at Reuel.
"I'm busy working here, Jaeril. If you want, you can do your job as a waitress and serve the customers!" I snapped at him.
The staff seemed to be scared, I don't know how I looked but that made her inhale a sharp air and turn her back around to do her job.
"That is just rude of you, Haeri." Reuel suddenly appeared in front of me.
"Damn it! You shocked the hell out of me you fucking angel!" I snapped at him, which in return he smiled, "What the fuck are you smiling at?"
He put his arms on the table, fingers laced under his chin, "I was just thinking, I've been your guardian angel since you were born. And it's my first time seeing and hearing you swear."
"Because I don't fucking talk, bastard." I glared at him.
"You're at work Haeri, try to be professional, besides I'm a customer here." He said, specifying the word.
"Whatever, why are you here?" I asked, while making him a coffee.
"Well, I'm here to tell you that the lady of there, that lady in red," I looked for the lady in red and found her to be sitting near the entrance, "She's a demon. And she's been staring at you since you got here, and you know what's her plan? To kill you."
I looked back at the lady, right she was staring at me. She might be the reason why I felt a bit uncomfortable when I got here.
"Why would she be in here?" I casually asked Reuel for her not to notice the growing awkwardness to me.
"Like I've said, she's going to kill you." Reuel answered before sipping his coffee.
Again, I looked at the lady and this time she let out a smile that was so creepy I couldn't stop myself from looking back at Reuel. They have different kind of face, that lady has that eerie aura, and her face is just so different. Especially her eyes, it's too black for a normal person.
While Reuel has a very mild aura yet has this authority and the feeling that you will be protected when you're with him. And his eyes are blue, like the color of the sky.
"What? Are you freaked out? That's normal Haeri, that means you're still a human." he then let out a soft laugh.
I let out a fake laugh, "What? Me? Freaked out? No way in hell!"
He put down his cup and put his arm on the table, "You don't want to ask why I'm here?"
I looked at him shook my head
"Listen, Haeri you should know the truth--"
Reuel was cut by a loud explosion that came from the kitchen. The people panicked and rushing to get out of the shop.
I ran to the kitchen to see a thick white smoke and the smell of burning meat, "Ken?" I called the chef
"Ken!" I called again, my eyes widen in shock when I saw a body lying on the floor, "Ken!" I ran towards him, He's in his stomach so I turn him around. I cannot help but to let out a horrified scream when I saw his face, burned.
