I slowly open my eyes, my body naturally waking up at six o'clock in the morning. Another day, a new beginning......my arse.
I quickly dress into the school uniform, since the Australian education system decided they won't let us wear our own thing. But as least I can put my face and hair how I want it.
I get ready as fast as I can so I can make sure I get down stairs by the time mum, dad, and Kat want breakfast.
I jump the rail and quickly run to the kitchen before dad comes pounding downstairs. Lucky duck. I made it before him.
I wait with my hands behind my back and stand straight, watching him as he makes his way to the bar stool on the island bench.
"Coffee." His cranky morning voice demands.
I automatically make my way over to the kettle and start making his coffee. Someone else comes down and by the sounds of it, I think it's Kat. I glance at her as she comes down in her bleach blonde, dead straight, hair, looking like a popular. As she is labeled as at school. All the guys want her, all the girls want to be her.
While the coffees getting ready I start cutting up some strawberries for Kat and sprinkle a tiny bit of sugar on them. I hand it to her then give dad his coffee.
Mum slowly comes down the stairs and moves to sit on dads lap. The thing with them is that they always show affection for each other. It's good to but they show way to much affection.
Dad does something to mum that makes her squeal. I turn around and stand with my hands behind my back. Ready for my next order.
"Did you make lunch?" Mum raises her eyebrows at me.
"Yes mum." I answer. I did them last night, like always.
"Do you have work this arvo?"
"No mum." I answer in a calm voice.
She nods and turns to dad to play with his hair. Kat finishes and goes off to get her phone. I wash the dishes then grab my bag for school.
Kat always goes first. She doesn't let me walk anywhere near her during school. She doesn't want anyone to know we're sisters. She's nine months older than me. That should show you how much "affection" mum and dad have regularly.
I cross the road for a longer way to school. We only live down the street from it but I don't want to go too early.Ok. Only an intro so u can basically get the way I right. It may be a bit confusing but I hope it gets better. I have heaps of ideas lined up for this so yeah. Thanks for giving it a go x
