Squary Note:

Yes, I am very much aware that this chapter is shorter than the others, but I wanted to release this chapter before I return to college tomorrow. Someone save me! I don't wanna go! D:

On a lighter note, please enjoy this Yuki-chan chapter

"Now for the next order of business, where's the princess." As the blonde woman speaks of a princess, everything around this site goes almost completely silent. Nobody speaks, hell I doubt many of them are actually breathing. A bead of sweat is trickling down the face of Ryugazaki Rei-kun as his hand shakes. He's beyond uneasy, all of the people here appear to be uneasy.

"We don't have the princess!" The tall guy, Sousuke shouts.

"I don't believe you. You've clearly got the princess. I bet you're hiding her."

"And I bet that Momo will burn you alive if you get any closer." I wince at Rin's sharp words, a tad harsh maybe?

"Stingy. Don't have to tell me twice, Matsuoka. Just know, that if you do have the princess, we will not hesitate to harvest your souls to revive our legendary being."

"Get out of here, Hanamura."

"Tch. What kind of team is this?"

As that Hanamura lady rides away, the group disperses again, gathering all that they have left outside. Are they packing up? Are we leaving? What's going on. I turn to face Rei-kun and Nagisa-kun.

"What was that about a princess?"

"The princess is the daughter of the emperor, but in this world, the emperor was killed before he could actually have children."

I tilt my head like a confused puppy, provoking Nagisa to explain what had just been said. "They need a princess to unleash that beast, but in this world, there was no princess, therefore they need me to fish the daughter of the emperor of a different dimension and bring her here."

"and they think you've got this so called princess?" I ask.

"We do. We brought her here."

"Are you talking about one of us?" I cock a brow, arms folded. There's no way one of us could be royalty. If I were, I would know.

"The princess is said to be incredibly competent and immensely powerful. This woman would be beyond our levels of power. I don't know about you Nagisa-kun, but I think that Misaki-san could be the princess."

"I agree, Yuki-chan doesn't seem to be grasping the aim of duel monsters, meanwhile, Misa-chan is a champion. I bet she'll compliment Rin-chan really well!" Nagisa-kun nods his head.

"OI! Nagisa, Rei, help pack up, now that Triple N know our location we have to get moving again, otherwise they may try and capture Misaki as some kind of leverage. We can't have that. So let's GO!"

"Right! Sorry Rin-chan!"

"Sorry Rin-san."

"Misaki, go inside the caravan and sit with your friend. We'll be on the road soon."

I nod, not saying a thing, going inside the caravan that Yuki-chan is sat in. She's groaning and moaning, clearly bored stiff, poor Yuki-chan. To think, that after all of the times I tried to get her into this game, and now she's being practically forced to learn in order to survive. Who would have thought that a children's card game would have anything to do with surviving.

"Hey, Yuki-chan."

"Hey Misa-chan, you okay."

"I'm fine." I shrug. "They're packing up so we can get on the road."

"Great, just what I need, an opportunity to get motion sick again, like usual."

"Why are you so fed up Yuki-chan?" I pout.

"Because, you're clearly the kind of asset these people need!"

"Nah, they just need a princess."

"A princess!" Yuki-chan cocks a brow, body stiff with discomfort as she rolls her now bright blue eyes.

"I can't believe it either."

"If anybody's the princess, Misa-chan, its you, you should be protected at all costs."

"Why? I'm sure they would protect you with a lot more fire because you've not got your head around this game yet."

"Regardless!" She presses, slamming her fist against the table and standing up. I get up too, letting her by.

Tetsuko Yukiko heads over to a full body mirror by the fridge and stares at herself, no recognition in her eyes at all. It's like she's having a depersonalisation moment and just doesn't know herself. It wouldn't be too unreasonable. She initially doesn't look much like herself in our world. Back at home, Yuki-chan would never be seen dead in such a bizarre outfit- or maybe a more correct term for it would be such a fashion forward outfit. She is in a rich jade green turtleneck with a tiny white skirt and white boots, her accessories are all white for the sake of contrast. Back home, she would wear oversized sweaters and leggings. There doesn't seem to be such style in this world.

"Yuki-chan, its going to be okay."

"But what if it isn't!" Is she...? Is Yukiko crying!

Yuki-chan stares at me, her now bright blue eyes welling with tears that are racing down her cheeks as if they were competing for a medal of some sorts. "What if it isn't Misa-chan, I saw that Rin guy cry over his sister, HIS LITTLE SISTER DIED!"

"I don't think she's dead Yuki-ch-" I am cut off by my teary best friend.

"I WANT TO GO HOME! I WANT US BOTH TO GO HOME! THIS BATTLE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH US! NOTHING," she hiccups, "It's nothing to do with us..."

"Yuki-chan, it's going to be okay. I promise."

"Don't make promises you can't keep!" wow she's being hostile today.

"I WILL KEEP IT!" I snap, making her flinch.

There is a hesitant knock on the door of the caravan. Rin opens the door seconds later.

"You needn't fear, it'll be okay. You won't be the only ones fighting, but we request that you brace yourselves and find somewhere to sit, we'll be filing in in a sec'."

"Right." I not, tugging on the crying Yuki-chan's arm.

"Oi! Ai! C'mere."

"Yes, Rin-senpai!"

"Can you cheer her up?" Rin's eyes flicker inside.

"I'll try my best!"

"Thank you Ai."
