Jenkins, Kendall, and the motionless North found themselves back in their world. North still had the blade in his chest, but something was off. Jenkins and Kendall could feel it. Time had passed since they had gone into the void. A ship loomed over their heads, and the united armies of the New Republic and the Federal Army of Chorus were converging on Malcolm Hargrove's last fortress.
Kendall grimaced and grabbed a medical kit off of her back. ''We have to stabilize North.''
Jenkins nodded. ''What do i have to do?
''Yank out the sword.''
''Oh, gosh.''

Miles away, Vermont, Arizona, and Washington were fighting for their lives.
Vermont swung his Arkblade cutlass, slicing a Mantis class mech in half. Still more came. They were surrounded!
Wash sighed. ''Well, this sucks.''
Zona nodded. ''It's been an honor working with you guys.''
Wash grimaced. ''You know, I always thought North would be the last standing.''
''And he was the first to fall.''
Vermont stiffened. ''North!''
''Uh, yeah. We're talking about North.''
''No, what I mean is- What would North do?''
Wash and Zona looked at Vermont. ''Well, he'd make a wisecrack and jump into combat.. and he'd lead us.''
Vermont sighed. ''I know... i know.''
