That night Suzume woke up at midnight and she swung her legs out of bed onto the cold wooden floor, she was fully clothed in a tight leather jacket and black leggins. She scanned her room fot any movement and she let her greeny blue eyes ajust to the darkness. Her hair was a mess but she didn't mind. Suzume stalked across the creaking floor boards and she knelt down and eased two floor boards away, revealing a rope and a suply bag.
Tonight she will escape from this school.
When the teachers had inspected her room that night she made sure they didn't find them.
Suzume tied her long hair up into a braid so it wouldn't get in her way, her fringe covered her eyes slightly but she didn't care much.
She slipped into her black leather boots and swung her bag and rope over her shoulders and slipped into the hall and scanned again for movement, in the dorm next to her the light was on.
Thats Hanates room. The new kid. What could keep him awake? She shook her head, abandoning the question and she quietly made her way out of the dorm house. The moon illuminated the school grounds ahead of her, this was her chance. She had to take it. She couldn't let them keep her.
They would lock her up if they fownd her, they've done it before. They locked her in her room for a week, and they barred up her windows and didn't feed her. After that week she was so tired, weak and painfully skinny she couldn't do anything. Bust she couldn't worry about that now. Suzume has to escape.
As Suzume stalked through the darkness like a shadow Hanate was watching her from his room. He smiled faintly. Good luck he thought and he turned away from her and turned out the light.
Suzume climbed the tree closest to the wall. There is barb wire covering the top of the wall, she cant jump on it so Suzume will have to jump over it. She secured the rope to the tree and tugged hard to make it tight. She took one last gaise at the tree, it was the cherry blossom. This was the only thing she would miss about this place. But she has to get answers. What was her father? Where is he? What is she? And she was going to hunt down the man who killed her mother. No matter what it takes.
Suzume looked ahead at the long Branch linking the tree to the wall. Its time.
She ran across the branch holding the rope tightly in her hands and she jumped over the wall, she was free, the wind blew in her face, her arms spread out as she felt she was flying then she slammed into the wall, getting rope burn as she still held tight. Suzume felt a massive pain in her right leg. She couldn't see what but she had to suck it up and get doen the wall.
She looked down. Damn it Damn it Damn it all! She thought to herself.
On the outside the wall was higher, it was about 20 metres high. Her rope wasn't long enough. What could she do.
She looked along the wall. They had made this a little after she ran away as a child, to imprison her, the wall ran all the way around the school.
She looked around again when she caught a glimpse of light on the ground. There seemed to be a small stream, not very deep but its her only chance to survive. If she landed on her bag it might break her fall but at the same time it could break her back.
Suzume couldn't worry about that now. She looked up at the moon. Wish me luck. She thought.
She let go.
