"But Mom!" I pleaded.

I was in the middle of an argument with my mother. Digi tour is coming to Alabama tomorrow and my best friend, Kylie and I really want to go and meet our idols.

"Hailey, it's not my fault you already told Daphne you two would be counselors. You brought this upon yourself."

"Ugh." I groan and stomp back to my room. I'm really childish for an 18 year old. Oh well yolo.

I shut my door and plop down on my queen sized bed. My phone lays on the nightstand so I reach for it to call Kylie.

"She said no." I say once she picks up.

"Why didn't we think of this before we said we would help out at the campground?" Kylie sighed.

"Because we're blonde."I laugh. Kylie laughs too and I sigh. "Just come over. You can sleepover since we have to leave early tomorrow morning for the campground." I tell her before hanging up.

Okay so if you want a background on me, here it is; It's the summer before I start my first year in college. High school was pretty monotonous to me. I had the A's and B's, so I guess I'm pretty smart, considering I was in honors and AP classes. I was accepted to several colleges but I have a scholarship for Yale in New Haven, Connecticut. It has always been one of my favorite colleges. Kylie got in as well so they have trouble coming. I want to be an animal surgeon. A normal surgeon is kind of on the back burner. As per relationships, I have been in like 2. I guess I'm more interested in school than having a big social life.

My brother bursts through the door with his toothbrush in hand.

"What did you do to it?" He barks loudly.

"Woah, hold up. Why would you think I did something to it?" I cross my arms. He's always trying to get me in trouble. Siblings.

"I don't know. You normally do." Aiden shrugs.

"You are wrong this time, dear brother. Kylie is coming over so away you go." I try to shoo him out of my room.

"Wait Kylie is? Can Braden?" Aiden stops on his way from walking out.

"Do I look like your mother? Go ask her." I point outwards.

"Fine. No need to be sassy." Aiden turns and walks back out into the hallway.

I sigh and close the door again. Aiden is 15 so he's going to be a sophomore. He has so much coming. Braden is Kylie's brother and he's 13. They have been best friends ever since they were born as well. It's like we're basically family.

Kylie bursts through the door and throws her bag at me.

"Ow. Was your laptop in there?" I rub my shoulder where the bag made contact.

"Whoops. I guess it was." Kylie stifles a chuckle and I groan.

"I really want to be at digi."

"Same." Kylie sits at my desk. "I'm going to have to refrain from checking snapchat or Twitter."

"Ugh. Same." I lay back. " So how's things with Corey?"

"He is still trying to tell me Georgia is his cousin. I have connections and know he's lying to my face." Kylie sighs.

Corey is Kylie's ex boyfriend. They were serious for quite awhile. It just ended when she realized he would party with this girl that's a senior in college.

"Forget him. It's not worth it." I advise her.

"That's what you always say." Kylie whines.

"I know, I'm good." I laugh. She shakes her head and a tapping sounds from my window.

It looks as if someone is throwing rocks at my window. I stand up and open it, peeking out. My neighbor, Jacob is standing down there with Corey.

"What do you two want?" I yell out into the night at them.

"Kylie's car is in your driveway." Jacob shouts back.

"Yeah and?" I retort.

"Well I want to talk to her." Corey answers.

"She doesn't want to talk to you." I slam shut my window and watch as they turn back and walk into Jacob's house. Just my luck, Jacob being best friends with Corey.

"Thanks." Kylie appears at my side to watch them walk away.

"I'm here for ya." I pat her back. "I need to pack." I pull out a bag from one of my drawers and turn to my closet. Alabama is quite hot during the day but cold at night. There are heat waves sometimes that come out of the blue just to make everyone go crazy. The camp is located mainly in the woods with a gigantic lake. There are sites all around for season pass keepers. We like to camp down by the 'beach' part because it's quieter and more peaceful. The main building has things from live bait to warm sweatshirts.

"Don't forget the bug spray." Kylie adds.

Last year we helped out with this camp. Let's just say a lot of the kids wanted ice cream. They threw it at me and the sticky food therefore attracted a lot of bugs. I shiver just thinking back to it. The camp is supposed to be ages 5-18. It's a drastic age category if you ask me. We mainly get kids around 9 and 10. They sure are feisty.

"WAKE UP!" Kylie screams in my hear.

"Fine!" I yell back. Kylie is always the morning person. Then there's me, the night owl.

"Let's go!" I look at her with her bag slung over her shoulder. She's wearing black Nike shorts with a pink camp counselor t-shirt. There are pink Vans on her feet with black socks pulled up past her ankles. Her blonde hair is braided to the side and has a slight bit of makeup. Leave it to Kylie to look gorgeous this early in the morning.

"I'm not even ready." I groan.

"Here." She throws my needed clothes at me and I make my way to the bathroom.

I slip on the matching black Nike shorts and a green camp counselor shirt. I have green Vans and black socks. We try to match, if you cannot tell. I leave my hair down and braid the front to clip it back. I brush my teeth and apply a little mascara to make my green eyes pop.

"Okay." I say, walking back into my room to grab my bag.

We walk down my stairs quietly and out the front door. The cool morning breeze hits me and I smile. Gotta love Alabama.

"Uh uh." I shake my head before Kylie climbs into her massive Chevy truck. "We are going in my car." I turn towards my black Jeep Sahara with the top and back off.

"Whatever you say." Kylie reluctantly agrees before hopping into the passenger side.

Time for camp.
