New Campers

"Are you ready?" Hailey asks before she puts the jeep into drive. I laugh.

"Yeah we don't wanna be late on the first day." I giggle at my comment and shrug. my smile fades when I see Corey at the front of the jeep waiting. I throw my head back and Hailey does the same. "Hails... what do we do...?" I sigh. "If we run him over will we be charged with murder?" I seriously just asked that question. I must be sleep deprived or something.

"Yes Ky. Yes we would." she looks at me and tbh I don't think she would care if she were charged with murder after running him over.

Ugh. "Just open my window." The window rolls open and Corey appears right before my beautiful face. Ok. That might have been exaggerated just a lil bit. "Corey. Why are you here." I was done being nice to him. He was just psycho.

"Because I want to talk to you." his eyes were watering but I knew that they were just trying to get me to pity him and that isn't working on me.

I rolled up the window half way. "Leave. I don't want to hear it. And besides you're on private property. No trespassing." I finished rolling up the window in Corey's baffled face and cheered myself on for telling that butt-face off.

"Woah I didn't think you'd actually say that. You sure dropped the bomb." we laughed together until we hit traffic on the highway. Then we weren't longer happy or excited, we were depressed about having to wait for a stupid tow truck to get off on the exit.

A buzzing vibration came from on top of the dash. I look to see who it was and of course I see Corey across the top. He's trying to call me. I hit decline and go back to looking out the window at the car next to us. My phone vibrated again. This time it was a text. I'm sorry Kylie please forgive me. Delete. My phone vibrated again but I ignored it. He tried calling twice already, just stop.

When we finally arrived at the campground, Daphne was waiting by the check in shed. I had received about thirteen calls and fifty messages. From Corey. "Hey my little campers. How's it going? You excited for this week?" Daphne was always enthusiastic about everything especially if it was camp.

Hailey and I looked at each other and sighed. "Yeah but we really wanted to go to Digi. And since we're gonna be here, we can't go. But we always keep our promises to being here, don't we?" Hailey sighs and looks at me. "But Kylie's ex boyfriend won't stop trying to apologize to her for partying with a senior in college. He makes up a lame excuse every time. She's just done with him. He tried to talk to her as we were leaving home today and since then texted her fifty times and called her thirteen times. Harassing much?" She laughed and so did I. I have the best bff best friend forever.

"Other than that though we love this camp so yippee!" I say and laugh. Daphne and Hailey join me before Daphne calls into the main office.

"Alright I'm glad. Do you wanna see your cabin?" She's so enthusiastic. Why. Hailey and I nod our heads and cheerfully go park the jeep.

"This might be fun after all you never know." I shrug and Hailey smiles.

We get out of the jeep and follow Daphne to a large pine tree in the center of camp. it has a bunch of colorful wooden signs pointing in the direction of the different campsites and activities. Daphne leads us to the faded green campsite. What we saw was horrendous. Did Daphne hate us?

We walked into our cabin and put our bags on the floor. The cabin creaked below our footsteps as we creeped around. Hailey and I looked at each other with a look of disgust. We turned as Daphne spoke. "So what do you think?"

"Love it." we hated lying to Daphne but what choice did we have? It was an old run down cabin with creaky floorboards and cob webs in the corners. It was basically an abandoned building. While we've been at the campground it started to rain. there was a leak in the ceiling where the roof lacked shingles. Oh boy. At least we had a bathroom, indoor plumbing or outhouse style didn't matter.

We started to clean up the site and our cabin after Daphne told us we had the day to ourselves to prepare for tomorrow. When we were finished fixing up a clean spot for our stuff, we organized the cabin in a way that made it somewhat presentable. After I put all my stuff away, I helped Hailey with her stuff.

Hailey and I plopped on our newly sheeted beds and sighed. It was already 3:45 and we had not eaten a thing all day. "Food?" I asked Hailey.

"Food." she replied. We simultaneously got up and laced our vans and walked out of the cabin. Unfortunately the cabin doors can only fit one of us at the same time, so I of course got bumped back by Hailey's butt. Go figure. We hopped in the jeep and told Daphne we were leaving. She didn't stop us since she had told us earlier that the food supply does not get here until around 6:50 tomorrow morning. Well at least we would have breakfast tomorrow.

We stopped at the McDonalds drive thru and ordered the usual. Two McDoubles without cheese, a value fry, and a small sprite for me, and a BigMac, value fry, and a small root beer for Hailey. We may be small girls but we eat big food. And we love it. Cause I'm lovin' it. Get it cause that's the McDonalds slogan. Ha. I laugh at my own jokes.

When we got back to camp there was a police car waiting by the front. As we were trying to get through the gate, he stopped us. He came to the drivers side window and told us to open it. Hailey looked to me then opened the window. "Excuse me miss, and you," pointing to me, "um, the camp does not open unt-" Hailey interrupted him.

"Oh." she laughed. "Yeah see were not campers, were counsellors here. we just went out to get food for ourselves since the food supply doesn't get here until tomorrow." she laughed again. I decided to laugh with her. Oh hey, we forgot to get food for Daphne. Whoops.

"Oh alright then. Have a good rest of your day." we waved back to him as he went back to his car.

We spent the rest of the day in our cabin. I was on my computer looking up fun camping recipes while Hailey was on Vine. I tried to tell her that they would probably post a vine of them at Digi but she didn't seem to care. It was around 10:15 when Daphne came to our cabin to call lights out. We would have never thought that when we woke up the next day that we'd be so close to who we wanted to be with the whole time.

Hey y'all I'm Kylie the best friend of Hailey obviously but the first two chapters are literally so accurate it's hilarious so enjoy our thoughts haha. But I don't know when Hailey's gonna have me write another chapter so till then! Oh and um the food I got was literally what I get at McDonalds so... k bye.
