Whoops. Look who hasn't updated. *raises hand shamefully* But I'm back!
"Yeah I'll have some homemade fudge, and my lady here would like some caramel," Daniel said. "Isn't that right, princess?"
Reagan looked up, "Hmm? Oh, yeah."
Daniel looked at her curiously. Reagan felt the heat of his eyes, looked at him, and gave him a faint smile. Daniel shrugged and smiled back, not noticing how worried "his lady" looked.
As they sat down, waiting for the candy, Daniel asked, "So, what did you want to talk about?"
"Reagan looked up at him, "I met a girl today..."
"And? Honey, you see and meet girls, like, everyday." He laughed.
"Yeah, I know. But this girl. She was, I don't know. She was, different."
"How so?"
"I think she was hitting on me."
"What?! Oh come on. God, I hate people who flirt with you. But it's always guys, and this time it's a girl? You're kidding right? You know how I feel towards the 'LGBTQ+' community. I hate it. Honey, those people aren't normal."
Reagan looked hurt. "Actually, I was thinking of maybe hanging out with her."
"Asking her to be friends? No. I won't let you. I don't want my girl being some 'eye-candy' for a fucking fag!"
"Well that's the thing. I don't want to be 'yo-"
"Daniel! Your order is ready." The worker shouted.
He stood up and picked up the candy.
You have to do it now. Come on, it's now or never.
He came back and handed the caramel candy to Reagan.
"Look Daniel." She sighed.
"Shh, Reagan. It's fine. I'm sorry for acting out like that, but you know how I am. You know how I was raised. Now, how about we stop talking and eat our sweets?"
Reagan gave another sigh and huffed, "Okay."
"Cool. Now come here." He leaned over to kiss her, but was quickly rejected when Reagan shoved the candy in her mouth.
"We can't kiss while we're eating. What if I choke?"
He laughed at what she said, "Okay, but you owe me tons of kisses later."
She gave him a strained smile. No promises.
"Now, come on babe. We have to get going if we want to make it on time to your party. Plus, I still have to show you your surprise."
"Okay. But hey, can I drive?"
He looked at her funny, and replied with, "No."
"Fine, but can I at least choose the music?"
"Okay darling. I love you."
"Me too."
As he turned on his car, she connected her phone to the car's Bluetooth and played Girl Crush by Little Big Town.
Daniel looked at her with the same face as before, and disconnected her phone and switched it on to the radio.
"There. Better." He smiled at her, but her mind was on something else...on Cara.
I'm sorry. But like school started and I haven't had any time to write. But I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Have a lovely day darlings. :)
