"How was school today?" Jalen, our 23, year old brother asked us as we climbed into his SUV along with Zoe and Joe.

"It was school." I said wanting the conversation to end. Considering I'd only met one person I wouldn't cal today a success.

"I made so many new friends thanks to Zoe!" Tyler said bumping our cousin's shoulder as they sat in the back row. I'm in the passenger's seat and Joe is in the middle row alone.

"That's great! I'm dropping and running." Jalen said. The car ride was full of the other four talking while I stared out my window. When we pulled into our driveway I was the first one out and up the path to the house. I pulled out my key and unlocked the door. I threw my bag on the couch and then ran upstairs to my room to lay down. I didn't have any homework tonight, so what I was going to do I had no idea. Joe, Zoe, and Tyler are filming a collab for their channel and well I'm the oddball out.

"Are you okay?" Joe asked poking his head into my room.

"I'm okay as I can be." I replied sitting up. He walked in closing the door behind him and he sat down on the end of my bed.

"What's going on?"

"I miss mom and my old friends. I don't really fit in here. Everyone at that school has a YouTube channel and I don't. I don't get why my dad put me there." I said taking the bow out of my hair and then putting it into a bun.

"He put you there because it is a school for all talents and even though you have refused to sing for years, which I still don't understand why, you sing very well and he knows your potential. We all do."

"I'm not singing again ever. I don't have it in me anymore." I said with a sigh.

"Whatever you say. I'm throwing a back to school party Friday with a couple of friends, you and Tyler are invited to come." Joe said.

"I'll think about it, but we all know Ty is the party animal so he will def be there." I said with a slight chuckle and Joe laughed.

"Yup. Now I have to go film with the elders." He said kissing my forehead and then leaving my room. I grabbed my laptop off of my desk and grabbed my lap desk. I logged on and then logged into my YouTube account. I looked up Adam's account and I subscribed before watching a couple of his videos. At around 5:30 my dad came home and he brought pizza with him.

"Did you make friends today?" My dad asked us while we sat at the table for dinner. I took a bite of my pizza and looked down at the plate.

"I met many of Zoe's and Joe's friends and they are really nice. So I guess you could call them y friends." Tyler said.

"That's great! Did you enjoy your classes?" our dad asked.

"Yeah I even have a class with Lottie and Joe. It's pretty cool." Tyler said and my dad turned his head to look at me.

"What's going on with elephant over there?" My dad asked Tyler.

"Not really sure. Joe wouldn't tell me what they talked about." Tyler replied and I took another small bite of pizza. Tyler took over the whole conversation at dinner and once we put the plates in the dishwasher my dad took me out back to the patio.

"Okay what's going on with my little Elly?" He asked me as we sat down on this bed type thing on the screened in patio.

"I don't fit in with anyone at that school. They are all Youtubers and I'm simply me." I replied playing with the blanket that was out there.

"You do fit in hun, but it has to be more than that." He said looking at me sternly.

"Promise not to get mad?" I asked him and he nodded his head. I took a deep breathe before answering him.

"I miss mom. A lot. It's just so hard to fit in with everyone. I miss my old friends." I said feeling a lump grow in my throat.

"I know it's hard, but this is what's best. I couldn't let you stay there knowing what happened for three months." He said. The first two tears fell and more followed them.

"Don't cry sweet girl." my dad said wiping away my tears.

"I'm sorry dad. I know you did what was best for us. Change is just hard to handle." I said and he pulled me into a hug. The two us us just sat there for half an hour before going inside. I went back upstairs and turned on music before walking over to my closet. I picked out tomorrows outfit before beginning to finish unpacking my desk items. Once that box was empty I went into my en-suite and took a quick shower before putting my pajamas on. When I walked out as I finished braiding hair I found a stuffed elephant on my bed and I smiled. Elephants are my favorite animals because they never forget and that is pretty freaking cool. My love for elephants is the reason my dad calls me Elly.

I turned  on my spotify playlist that I use at night to help me sleep, it is full of songs my parents used to sing us asleep to, and then turned off all the lights in my room. I got cuddled under the covers with the elephant and slowly drifted off to sleep. Hopefully tomorrow is better!
