Mt. Iwaki

October 8th

"What even is the damn atlas?!" Tatara shouts into the air as the group walks along a path, Yu flying above them. "It's supposed to be a place, or an item, or something that belonged to one of the first demons ever. The demon is dead now but finding anything about this demon could really help us. If we're lucky I'll get samples to send to Tamayo." Haruto replies. "Really? Sounds like it could help us get Sumire back into a human. Tatara smiles at Haruto. "There's a chance." Haruto looks down at the dirt road they're walking on.

"Caw! Caw! Feed me Haruto! I'm starving! Caw!" Yu shouts from the sky. "Don't the demon slayers feed you?!" Haruto shouts up at Yu. "Caw! Yes they do! I just like to use you for extra food! Caw! Caw!" Tatara bursts out laughing. "There's a town nearby. It's at the foot of the mountain." Odataki says, pointing at the nearby mountain looming on the horizon. "Then let's go eat! Right, Yu?" Tatara shouts as he runs in the direction of the town. "Don't encourage him, Tatara!"

Haruto, Odataki, Tatara, and Sumire all sit on stools outside a stand. Haruto taps Odataki and whispers in his ear. "Today is Tatara's birthday. I want to surprise him with something, just write something down." Haruto slides a paper over to Odataki, he quickly writes something down. Haruto grabs the paper from him and folds it up, he pulls out something covered in a cloth.

"What is that?" Odataki asks. "It's a type of bread." Haruto replies as he slides it over to Tatara. "What's this?" Haruto forces a smile out "happy birthday!" Tatara laughs and grabs hold of the letter, opening it up.

"Happy birthday brother! I know you just left the butterfly estate but whenever you feel like it, come back and check up on me! I'll make sure I get you one amazing birthday gift! Alright? Love, your little sister, Yukki."

A small tear escapes the corner of Tatara's eye. "How'd you get Yukki to write me something?" Tatara looks down and sees Odataki and Haruto's small messages as well. "I had sent her a letter about this a week ago." Tatara slings his arm around Haruto "you guys are the best." The rest of their day is spent around the small town, celebrating Tatata's birthday in anyway possible.

October 9th

Early in the morning the group leaves for the mountain. After about an hour of walking they finally make it to the trail leading up the mountain. Haruto glances at the path ahead of him. "WOAH!" Tatara shouts looking up the trail. "So this is mt. Iwaki. It's huge." Odataki remarks. "Yeah no wonder the atlas stayed hidden here.

The group walks along the path, slowly starting to ascend the mountain. Eventually they enter a small cave where the path continues. "Heads up. Something is coming." Odataki announces, the three pull out their swords immediately. "They seem to be low level demons, four of them." Haruto quickly confirms with his senses. "Good good. With us using our breaths at all times now... this should be a piece of cake!" Tatara shouts as the demons approach them. Finally showing themselves in the small light the cave has to offer. "F-food. Stuck on this mountain. Finally, Food... FOOOOD!!!" The four demons rush forward.
