Chester's P.O.V.

How is it that the world can change right before your eyes? I was just in a car with Danny now...now all I see it black. Everything around there is a black daze, when there is a lit, it is gone in seconds. Blinking brings shapes of diamonds and water ripples in colors of purple and blue and light yellows. Where I am consists of nothing. I am a man in a box. There is nothing for me in here. I am not even sure if I am breathing. I feel myself inhaling and exhaling, but it almost feels as though, all around me is water. All around me is cold. My body is in the constant feeling of a limb falling asleep. However, sometimes, it feels as though I am bouncing off walls. The overall feeling is like being stabbed with needles, or being wrapped up in a blanked of ice picks, made of actual ice. What has happened? Why am I here.

"Dad, I really don't think I'm ready to come back." A familiar voice said faintly.

"Onion," Another voice said, more muffled than the other. "He needs you here, you have not even visited since you left the hospital."

"Dad," The girl said sadly. "He can't hear me, he's in a coma. I hate seeing him like this, can't we just go. Why did you even bring me here?"

"Onion," The fuzzy voice said. "You need him. That is why I bought you here, you have not left your room in ten days, you have barely eaten. Your going though exactly what you when though after Daniel. So sit down," He said sternly. "And talk to him."

For a moment no voice spoke. The silence was loud. There was a beating and a tapping. Slowly the tingling in my body seemed to warm. I could feel my heart beat. "Okay..." She said quietly. "Okay..." She repeated. "Can you leave though? It would just...be easier talking to him..." She said at a whisper.

The man never responded. For a few seconds, she did not speak either. During this time, I felt a warm burst of water on my hand, on of them, I am unknown to which. "Chester..." The voice said quietly. "It's Danny..." She chuckled.

I widened my eyes looking for her. "Danny?" I said spinning in the dark room. "Danny, I can here you were are you at?"

"I know you can't hear me...I know you can't respond...I just...I want to say I'm sorry." Danny sighed. "You...I..." Danny stopped and the water rushing on my hand turned to cold ice. "I want you to wake up. I know you have it in you." Danny sniffed. "You did not know so many things. Things I wanted to tell you...about Daniel...about me." Danny chuckled. Slowly, I felt a warm object run over my forehead. Quickly I reached out, trying to take the object in my hand. Danny chuckled again as the warm water rushed back into my hand. "Why are you always admitting heat when I am with you? I even had the nurses check your temperature, your normal. Yet, every single time I hold your hand, your emitting heat like a radiator."

"Danny," I said quietly. "You don't know--"

"I miss that...I want that to come back. Chester," Danny said quietly. "I..."She said at a whisper. "I miss you. You were the only one who cared. The only one I even thought about opening up to. I never, never, felt like that with Miles. That is why I need you to wake up. That is why you need to be here. I need you, more that you think."

"Danny!" I yelled, my head aching from the cold air around me. "I am here! I am right here. Why can't you hear me?"

"Comatose...might not wake up...god Chester, you have to wake up. If I'm a mess now, what the hell is going to happen in a month, or two, or in a year from now. Who's going to keep me from myself? Who's going to lay with me at night while I cry my eyes out? That person was you!" Danny screamed, her voice shattering the air. Danny took a deep, shaky breath in, by the sound of it, she was crying. "Chester..." She cried. "Chester..." She said again, with a bit of a chuckle. "You never got to find out the circumference of your left ass cheek. You have to come back for that...you have to fight for that." Danny sighed and the warm from my hand left. Once again I was back to the tingling ice feeling. Like I was trapped under the ice, breathing in the water. My lungs shattering from both the words I was hearing, and the life I was living.

"I almost forgot to tell you this...a while back...that night...when your dad brought up the letters. I remembered. The once you used to write to me when we were younger. I loved them. You were always so sweet...dorky...but sweet. I never forgot about them. Actually...I um...brought them with me. I thought I could put them on your board. See if it might rattle something in the smart head of yours..." Danny chuckled. "I wish you could hear me...hear what I'm going through. Hear...hear what I'm feeling...for...for you."

"Danny..." I sighed, trying to reach out to her. "I'm right here, I can hear you, I can feel you. Danny, please, anything...let me know you can here me." I said as I felt acidic streams down my face.

Danny sighed. "Chester...remember...you promised me...you would fight...as long as I stayed in your life...I've kept my promise...I expect you...to keep yours." She said letting out one last cry. "You promised you would fight..." She said again.

"I am fighting, Danny. I'm fighting for you, because without you, I would have jumped. Without you I was living a meaningless life. I am fighting, Danny! Why can you not see that? I am fighting!"
