Chapter 3

Resting stop close to Portland , Oregon

5:47pm

We arrive at a resting stop, just less than hour away. I'm happy to be able to walk in nature again. We get all our food and head to a table under a big tree with shade covering it completely. Mätte and Käeo head with the kids to see the lake that can be seen from the eating area. The other people that were on the bus, mostly women were surrounding Käeo,praising how cute Adela is.

The driver tells everybody that in 45min will be leaving and to finish up eating.

10 min pass by and we finish most of our food, but all out of nowhere a piercing scream is heard, everyone looks a round but we don't see anythi- even before I could continue it was heard again, it was coming from the bus. Me and Mätte decide that we'll go to check it out, we quickly run over to the bus. First thing I see is the driver bleeding from the stomach down and half of his wait shirt was cover with his blood. We step towards him to attend his injury.

"What happen to you-" I say to him as I try to apply pressure to his own and searching where the first aid kit is. But he doesn't response- he alive- he just keeps staring forward two a shadowy figure. That shadowy figure charges at us with stick like weapon,maybe batons , but no knife.

Mätte steps forward, giving me to give me an chance to escape with the man.

I try my best to carry the driver but it more like a drag-carry.

"Help, HELP!!!" I say with all my strength, I try to carry him as far from the bus

"Someone call 911!" A lot of people see what's happening and others are on the phone call for emergency. A woman and man attend the drive by stopping the bleeding they said that they were student nurse. I hand them the first kit and they do the rest

Then we hear a electric sound and the moment I turn to the side of the bus I see Mätte come out from the bus window with the glasses of shard following him even as he it's the ground and skid a few time.

Everybody runs to safety and I tell Käeo and Hayden to take kids to a safety. Hayden gently grabs Adela, as he was the closest to her and grabs Payton out of his wheel chair and carries them. But before he was pick up, he grab the one of Adela's binky so if she woke up and started crying that would calm her down. Käeo runs with Payton's wheelchair and the rest of the group. I see that my brother tries to sign me something I try to understand him but I can't see what he saying with a lot of the people running. He always sign in Portuguese when everything is rushing

"Eles são-"

He disappears in to hiding. I take a look at the man that all in black. Yep.

It is them.

The man in black approaches Mätte with such calmness that it make me angry, walking like a mean girl. I go running toward Mätte before the man can use his batons, the forcefield came up in time. But the problem was how was I going keep it drains a lot of energy. Mätte finally gains strength to get up, a little, but enough.

"Wake up Mätte, it's time run or fight!"

"What happ- AAHHH" I turn to him, he grabs is arm as he lay in pain.

"Then running it is" I say to my self "but for you, i'll fight"

The man gets really close to me and stay there for some seconds, then I jump when he starts hit the forcefield.

That usually never happens to me, if some one tries to scare me our just make me jump out of my seat usually never jump, only when I'm off guard. His helmet caught me off, it was the moment I realize that the fear was set on me.
