At the mention of his name, he watched as her eyes became unreadable to him. Hmm...interesting. He loved a challenge. Disregarding the fact that she almost shrank away from him, he offered her his arm, and at her inquiring gaze he asked. "Walk with me?"
And to his delight, without any protest she took his arm and he led them deeper into the woods.
The atmosphere between them wasn't uncomfortable nor was it tense. It simply held curiosity and intrigue. She looked at him. Under the moonlight, she could make out his features more clearly. He was handsome. She could tell that without having to look twice. He had a lean body but the lean muscles she felt on his arm, told her he wasn't helpless when it came to fighting either. From what she had heard about him, he was skilled enough to earn the rank of general in an army had he pursued such an ambition. That alone told her how powerful he was.
His black hair looked soft yet untamed. Now that she got a closer look at him, she could tell that instead of black colored orbs that had gazed at her in the clearing, he had a pair of eyes that sported an unusual grey color that often switched color from black to grey and grey to red whenever the light reached his eyes at certain angels. Right now, his eyes were a pitch black color that contrasted greatly with his white skin. He chiseled jaw was relaxed and his lips were pulled into an easy smile that looked relaxed but she could see the coldness that lurked underneath his easy demeanor. It made her remember that he could just as easily manipulate her like he had done to many others for over countless centuries. Apart from his seemingly flawless features, his nose was the only disfigurement he held. It was crooked in a way that told her that it had been broken many times. But she suspected that the other guy who dared raise a hand, much less a fist, didn't got off as easily.
Fully aware that she was studying him closely, he lifted his head and looked at the sky. Following his lead, she looked at the direction his gaze was on.
The moon was full and lighted up the night sky in a soothing manner. Around it, the stars glittered brightly, twinkling occasionally, and flickering in and out like small fireflies. The thought made him smile. It had been over five centuries since he had last sported such poetic thoughts.
"The moon looks lovely tonight, does it not?"he asked softly, trying to ease her into a comfortable conversation.
She followed his gaze and gave him a small smile. "It is," she said, just as softly.
He stopped. She looked at him to see what had stopped him and took inhaled sharply as she saw him studying her intently as if he was trying to solve a great puzzle. She tilted her head in a silent query.
"You intrigue me," he admitted, after a moment of silence. Despite herself she found herself grinning up at him. "I seem to have that effect on almost everyone I meet, my lord. It seems you are not immune to it either," she said, dryly.
He turned towards her fully, his hands clasped behind his back, but giving her an admonishing smirk. "That wouldn't do now, would it?"
She looked at him puzzled. "What, my lord?" she asked. He chuckled. "That," he said. "It wouldn't do to let people hear you, my intended, calling me by my title, now would it?" he asked.
She looked down, blushing. He tipped her chin up with his thumb and forefinger and gave her a mocking smirk. "Call me Dragon. I wouldn't have my bride calling me by my title like some common servant," At her startled look, he chuckled. "You are my bride. Soon, you will be my wife. I would like it very much if you start calling me by my name. You have power, my dear. When you marry me, you will be equal in power to me," he dropped her chin and took a step back and clasped his hands behind his back. "So, go on," he said. "Say it,"
