I walked through Cameron's front door and made my way up to his room. I knocked before walking in. His room was empty and he wasn't here. I pulled out my phone and dialed his number.
"Cam where are you?" I asked him.
"I'm with the boys at Six Flags." He told me.
"Oh. I'll let you have fun then." I told him.
"Wait y/n, is something wrong?" He asked.
"No I was just wondering where you were that's all." I said and then we said goodbye. I sat on his bed with an empty feeling. I can't believe he forgot. He forgot, oh god he forgot. I got up and walked out of his room.
I climbed into my car and drove home. By now the tears were flooding and causing me to not see correctly. I pulled into my driveway and walked into the house.
"Y/n sweetie is everything aright?" My mom asked as I walked into the house.
"Cam forgot." I said and she gave me a hug. I went upstairs and changed into my pajamas and crashed onto my bed deciding that sleep was the only thing to clear my mind.
"Camy do you promise not to forget about this day?" I asked Cameron.
"I promise y/n. I promise not to forget about this day. Today is such a special day that a year ago that you walked into my life."he said hugging me.
"And to think I hated moving here but now I'm glad I moved here with my family." I laughed.
"Me to. So from now on every year I will do something specia for you." He told me. I smiled and soon we went off to the carnival to spend my one year anniversary of moving here.
I felt someone poking me on my sides. I stirred and turned my face towards them.
"Y/n." Cameron's voice said. My eyes whipped opened.
"Y/n I'm so sorry. I knew something was up when you called. I'll be honest, I forgot. I did and I hate myself for that since I promised you I wouldn't forget this day 5 years ago." He told me.
"I forgive you. I'm not one to hold a grudge on my best friend." I told him. I got up and gave him a hug.
"Thanks y/n. I'm gonna make it up to." He said walking over to my closet. He threw a pair of shorts and a casual top at me.
"Go change and then come down to my car." He said and left my room. I quickly changed and made sure I looked decent. I ran down the steps and out to his car.
We arrived at the location and once we got out I realized where we were.
"You brought me to the zoo? How'd you know I wanted to come here!?!" I asked all excited.
"You mentioned it when we went out to eat 3 months ago." He laugh and kissed my nose. I giggled. We walked hand in hand around the zoo.
"So best friend." I started.
"Yes best friend?" He asked.
"How would you like to be my boyfriend?"I asked.
"I thought you'd never ask." He laughed.
"I'd love to be your boyfriend." He said hugging me sideways.
Once we got home we headed headed up to my room to watch movies but we talked for a while instead.
"So how come you asked me?" He asked.
"Because I knew you thought I friend zoned you." I said.
"How?" He asked.
"Oh come on every time I would best friend you had a hint of sadness in your eyes and I that smile of yours. I figured why not I ask since I probably made you think I didn't like you like that. I wasn't trying to make you think that. I just I couldn't get it across that I liked you because the boys would tease me." I told him.
"Oh well they are going to tease us both for a while until they get used to it." He said laughing and I just joined him.
