(Ik he not in school anymore but just pretend k? ;)
I watched all the girls crowd around him in the halls. He was standing there, a single rose in hand. It was said that he was going to ask one girl to prom today, and that it was random. But some part of me didn't believe that he would do it. Then again, my hopeless romantic self believed that he would ask me. And when Cameron Dallas walked towards me, I knew it had to be a dream.
He walked up to me and my group of friends, twirling the rose in his hands. He flashed us all an award-winning smile, making most of the girls almost faint. "Hi girls." He said, his deep voice captivating. "Hey, I'm (Y/N)." I say, as the girls go down the line and say their names. "Nice to meet you, all of you. It's a pleasure." We all smile at him. He looks at me for a split second, making me blush like crazy.
"So, I was wondering..." He says, focusing on the rose. "Kaylee, would you like to go to prom with me?" He hands my best friend the rose as she screeches in agreement. "Yes!" He picks her up, twirling her around. They both laugh as the other girls put on a smile for her. Cameron walks away, a bright smile on his face. "Oh my gosh guys!" Kaylee says, excited. "Congrats!" I say, unable to force a smile.

The day for prom finally came, and I was going with my friends. Kaylee told me that she was going to find someone for me, but she was too caught up with Cameron to care. I was fine with it, but deep inside, I was heartbroken. The whole day was spent on prepping myself for the night. My mom took me to get my nails done, and I had my hair curled nicely, taking a couple sections out of my face. "Come on, (Y/N), it will be fun." I said to myself throughout the course of the day. When it finally came time to put my dress on, I was ecstatic.
My dress was beautiful. It was a gorgeous teal color, with jewels under the chest. I had some silver heels with a teal bow to go with my dress. I had my makeup done with a more natural tone. When I was finished, I walked down to my front yard with my mom to take some pictures. "Alright, honey. Smile!" She took many pictures, some with a couple friends too. After we finish, we go to dinner and then drive to the place where the dance was held.
When we get there, I walk in with my friends, looking around at all the people dancing. I have to admit it, the venue was beautiful. We walked over to the dance floor, joining a couple other friends from school. We dance for a while, talking and laughing the whole time. After a while, we all decide to sit at the tables. Cameron comes in with Kaylee, her orange dress surprisingly bright. She walks over to me, a wide smile on her face. "Hey, (Y/N). How's prom?" Cameron walks up to her, smiling brightly. "It's fun! You two will have a blast!" "Thanks, (Y/N)." Kaylee says, giving me a quick hug.
Cameron eyes me up and down, making me feel uncomfortable. After all, Kaylee was his date, not me. I looked at him, giving him an awkward smile. "Alright, for all you couples out there, this one is for you." The DJ says. Kaylee giggles, taking Cameron and bringing him onto the dance floor. "Let's dance!" She says, putting his hands on her hips for him. Kaylee was one to take control, but not like this. I walked over to a pillar, leaning on it. I had to say, Cameron sure knows how to slow dance. He was so gentle with her, every single touch as if she were a piece of glass, breaking on impact.
At the end of the song, Kaylee grabbed Cameron's face, kissing him forcefully. At that, I couldn't watch anymore. I got up, and said, "Guys, I need some air.. I'm gonna go outside." They all nodded as I walked outside, following the trail of fairy lights to an empty bench. I sat down, putting my face in my hands. "Why would she do this?" I repeat, shaking my head. I hear footsteps close to me, and I look up to see none other than Cameron Dallas.
"Hey." He says, a smile forming on his face. "Why aren't you in there with Kaylee?" "It's not fun without you in there." I look at him, confused. "What? You like Kaylee, you should be in there with her...I mean, I don't mean anything to you." He looks up at the lights and laughs. "I don't like her. I like you." He sits down next to me, our legs brushing. "No, that's not right." "Yeah, it is. I thought you already had a date, so I asked Kaylee to get close to you." "Me? A date?" Now it was my turn to laugh.
"No way, I haven't had a date in forever." That famous smile comes back on his face. I swear, his smile could cure cancer. "Well, I want to change that." 'Stay With Me' by Sam Smith starts to play in the background. He gets up, putting out his hand for me to take. "May I have this dance?" I take it, getting up and coming face to face with this beautiful boy. He places his hands gently on my waist. They weren't too low or high. "I'm not that fragile." I say to him, making us both smile.
"I just like to be gentle." He says as I wrap my arms around his neck. "Well, I like gentle." We slow dance under the fairy lights, my head resting on his shoulder. He grips a little tighter on me, bringing me closer to him. He hums quietly to the song as we dance, putting a goofy smile on my face. When the song finishes, I lift my head up, looking at Cameron. He looks at me, then leans in and kisses me gently. I smile into the kiss, my insides getting that warm and fuzzy feeling. We break apart, staring at each other."You know what?" I say, looking at him and smiling. "What?" He says, returning the smile.
"Prom isn't so bad after all." I say, kissing him once more.
