Avery

The bright morning sun had made itself known through the windows of my bedroom as I lifted off my duvet and crawled out of my bed and looked at my alarm clock, 9:15 AM it read. Shit I had slept through my alarm once again only forty-five minutes to get to work. I rush to my closet and pull out my favorite denim skirt, a red striped shirt, and my cream high tops. I rush out my room and down the hallway to the bathroom. As I entered I noticed my best friend Sophia popping a pimple in the mirror. "Soph, I understand that popping that pimple is important to you, but I am about to be late for work, so can you please move your ass. Thanks babe!" Sophia flipped me the bird, smiled, and said "Maybe you shouldn't sleep through your alarm dumbass!" Sophia chuckled as she walked down the hall. "Screw you Soph!" I squawked as I grabbed my brush and tugged it through my blonde hair. I threw off my pajamas and swiftly put on my new undergarments and my outfit for the day. After all the everyday essentials were taken care of I put on a little make up and spritzed myself with some of Sophia's perfume. I exited the bathroom and began hopping down the stairs, as I attempted to put on my shoes. I grabbed my bag that was hanging at the bottom of the stairs. I immediately slipped the bag over my shoulder and pulled my phone out of my pocket to check the time.

9:30. Awesome, I still have enough time to grab some coffee. I opened the door to the house that I shared with three other girls and screamed "BYE LADIES!" I slammed the door shut behind me and walked down our front steps and onto the sidewalk. My feet began leading me towards the local coffeehouse, Colectivo. A smile spread across my face as the eccentric coffeehouse came into view.

Coffee any day of the week was important, but coffee on a Saturday morning before a 8 and half hour shift at Urban Outfitters was a must. As I opened the door to the coffeehouse I was relieved to see that the line was quite short. I stood in line behind a tall, broad man who was dressed in a tight white shirt, black skinny jeans, and worn brown boots. He had shoulder length curly hair. This man from behind was extremely handsome, if not the most handsome backside of a man that I have ever laid eyes on. I tried to take my attention off of this handsome-from-behind man, but his height was blocking my view from seeing the menu. Panic struck me, Okay Avery, you can do this, I thought. Once I finally mustered up the courage I tapped the boy in front of me on the shoulder.

He turned around with a confused look on his face. "Hi," I said smiling. "I can't see the menu". He shifted a little to the right, not completely leaving his place in line. "Better?" He asked with a smirk on his face. "Much!" I replied as I looked up in amusement at the menu. But my view shortly changed to the man guy next to me. His frontside was even more handsome. He had soft green eyes that reminded me of evergreen trees and plump rosy lips. Our eyes met as he looked down at me, I quickly shifted my view back to the menu. The guy in front of me chuckled lightly as a blush appeared on his face. "Found anything that you'd like?" He said with amusement. Yes, I'll take a tall glass of you, I thought to myself. "Yeah, I think I am going to get the Espresso shake. What about yourself?" I said trying to make conversation. "I think an Americano. What's your name?" The question had shocked me, why would he want my name?

"Avery, my name is Avery. What's yours?" I said shyly. I never liked my name, I always thought it was a bit too boyish.

"Harry. Nice to meet you Avery." I looked up and smiled at him and noticed that we were now at the front of the line. "Nice to meet you too Harry, but I think it's your turn to order." He chuckled and turned towards the barista. I lost interest in his conversation as I looked around the eccentric coffeehouse. Soon it was my turn to order. "What can I get you?" The barista asked me. "I'll have an Espresso shake." I said as I began to pull out my wallet. "Avery? You've already been taken care of, please go wait at the end for your drink." A look of confusion took over my face as I made my way towards the pick-up counter. Harry was just walking away with his coffee cup in his hand. He smiled at me and said "You're welcome" as he walked out the door. A huge smirk spread across my face as the other barista handed me my shake. I placed a straw into the cup as I began walking out the door. Today wasn't going to be so bad after all.

a/n: well here is the first official chapter of Assassin. I hope you all enjoy it. This is really only my third attempt at writing 1d fanfic even though I've been apart of the fandom for nearly five years. Anyways let me know any thoughts.

all the love~a

ps. I don't actually think the name Avery is boyish at all. If I ever have a daughter I want to name her Avery Rae.
