Avery
Work had gone quickly after Sophia and the boys left. I was still surprised that Harry was one of Liam's roommates. What a small friggin world. I had been so happy all afternoon, even my manager seemed to take notice. "You seem awfully peach today Avery." I tried to play it off. "Well I sold an awful lot today, so that feels pretty damn awesome!" I smiled at my manager Luna.
"I don't think that's the reason for that smile, but whatever!" Luna laughed. "Can you please go fold girl's denim?" I nodded in response. "Thanks dear!" Luna shouted over her shoulder as she went back to organizing the vinyls.
I stalked off in the direction of the jean wall and started folding. My thoughts drifted from work to the handsome boy that I thought I'd never see again. Harry. He was so handsome and silly, but there was something definitely different about him. His eyes didn't shine with the way he acted. Something in his life must of made him close himself off from truly expressing himself to others. I craved to know more about this simple but extremely handsome man. His style was so simple but he pulled it off so well. Oh and his hair! His hair so beautiful and long, I have never seen a man pull of long hair as well as Harry did. I knew this stupid crush wouldn't go away and I needed Sophia's help to make it go away. It would be to damn hard to be dating a boy whose best friends with my best friends boyfriend. But I couldn't help but crave his presence, he intrigued me in a way no one has ever before.
"AVERY!!" Luna yelled at me pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah!" I shouted back.
"I have been yelling your name for like three minutes, can you please lock the front door?" Luna asked.
"I'm sorry!" I yelled to her as I made my way to the front of the store and locked the door so no more customers would be able to enter. Heavy rain fell from the sky. Great. I forgot my freaking umbrella at home.
"Luna, it's raining again!" I shouted as I walked back to the cash wrap. "Can you possibly give me a ride home if it doesn't stop raining. Pretty pretty please!" I begged. A smile appeared on Luna's lips. "Since you begged so nicely, of course!"
Luna and I finished up our closing tasks quickly. We walked towards the front of the store as I turned off the lights and Luna set the alarm. We quickly left the building as Luna finished locking up the door. The rain had not subsided, if anything it had gotten worst. "Fuck!" Luna yelled quickly, "let's make a run for it." Luna and I began running down the street towards her midnight blue volkswagen jetta. She quickly unlocked the vehicle as we opened the doors in unison and slide into the slick leather seats. The car roared to life as she stuck her key into the ignition. She turned the heat on full blast as soft indie music filled the empty silence. She switched gears into drive and we were off. The car ride was short lived considering the fact that I lived less than a two minute car drive away. As Luna pulled up in front of my I house I quickly thanked her and told her I would see her later. I exited the car and quickly pulled my house keys out of my purse. I walked up the walk and up the steps to the front porch. I unlocked the front door and noticed my two other roommates, Charlie and Olivia sitting the living watching some weird nail TV show on TV. I greeted them and walked up the stairs into my room.
I was greeted by a surprise as I opened my bedroom door, Sophia was sitting on my bed reading some book. "Oh Avery! Just the girl I have been waiting for!" Sophia said excitedly.
"I mean you obviously chose the right spot to wait considering this is my bedroom." I responded to her. " What do you want?"
"Well you see," She started off. "There was this really good looking boy at Urban Outfitters today and it seems as if he was flirting with you an awful lot. Well at least in my opinion. And well, I was wondering what you thought of him."
"Who the hell are you talking about? No boys ever flirt with me." I replied.
"Well you must be pretty oblivious, because darling you had a boy basically eating out of your hand. How many boys go into Urban and spend over three hundred dollars?" She stated.
"I mean a lot of boys do, you see, it's a pretty pricey store." I said with a smartass tone to my voice.
"Honey! Do I have to fucking spell it out for you! HARRY! H-A-R-R-Y. HARRY couldn't take his eyes off of you. I have never seen that boy so interested in anyone before." Sophia said excitedly. So I wasn't completely wrong Harry was flirting with me, but that doesn't mean he is interested in me.
"So, just cause he was flirting with me doesn't exactly mean he is all that interested in me Soph. I don't get boys like you do, I have never been a relationship that has lasted over three months!" I said softly.
"Babe, he was interested in you, don't tell him I ever told you this. But he has a crush on you. I have never seen this boy blush before but when the boys and I were teasing him about flirting with you, his cheeks turned bright red and he even admitted it to us. I wasn't suppose to tell but I obviously can't keep a secret this big from my best friend! Harry has a huge crush on you after only meeting you once, okay technically twice. But still, you attracted one of the hottest guys in the whole Milwaukee area!" Sophia jumped up and down with excitement. A huge smile appeared on my face as I felt my cheeks turn red. "Oh look now you're blushing Avery!"
"Oh shut up!" I said laughing. "I have no clue when I will ever see him again tho. He seems so mysterious. I just want to get to know him." I said confiding in Sophia.
"Well you could always come with me the next time I go out, Harry normally tags along with Liam and the rest of the boys. Or the next time I go over to the boys house you could come along to. But as of right now, I have been texting Liam and I finally got him to give me Harry's number. You can thank me later." Sophia said as she quickly grabbed my phone from my hand and entered Harry as a contact on my phone. She quickly sent a message before I could steal my phone back.
to Harry Styles
Hey Good-Lookin', It's me Avery.
I shook my head angrily. "Oh Sophia you are going to fucking pay, I would never text like that. Get the hell out of my room you ass! Now I have to fucking fix this!" I yelled at her with a grin on my face.
Sophia finally exited my room while fits of laughter escaped her lips. I could hear her talking to who I assumed was Liam on the phone about how our conversation had just went.
I quickly typed another text to Harry.
to Harry Styles
Hey. Sorry for that last message, that was from Sophia. She gave me your number. I hope that's alright. -Avery.
As I pressed send I fell back on my bed and let myself relax. My thoughts went straight away to the beautiful, mysterious boy with brown curly hair and angry green eyes. I wonder who had caused him to be so mad. The sound of raindrops plopping down on the roof lulled me into dreamland as I fell asleep in my street clothes.
a/n: Well I am sorry this chapter is so short in comparison to the last. I am just trying to get the characters familiar with one another and kind of set up where the story is going to go. I know a lot of you are ready for mysterious Harry and I promise he will definitely make an appearance during the rest of the story. But I want everyone to understand that there are different sides of Harry throughout this fic. Harry's character has a lot more depth than you may think. I also want everyone to be aware that as of right now in this fic it's September so it's not too cold or too hot in Milwaukee. I also didn't proof read this before I posted this because I wanted to post a chapter before I had to go to class! I hope you all enjoyed this chapter.
if you want to follow me on twitter my twitter is asdfghjklalesha, I always follow back.
as always,
all the love-a
