math.

i hated math.

i hated the teacher and the subject.

it's bad enough i had to see the teacher every sunday.

"good morning sydney" mrs. pollen said as i walked into the room.

i muttered out a hello and slumped down in my desk.

we had 5 more minutes until the tardy bell and i looked around to see who was all missing.

i counted two fückboys that where in my class.

three different colored haired girls.

four boys who where obsessing over black ops.

and i wasn't sure about anyone else.

this school is so different than what im used too.

i was pulled out of my thoughts when i heard someone behind me.

"well, well, well, if it isn't miss sydney karis"

i turned around and saw probably the only guy that i liked anymore and almost screamed.

"ashton ohmygosh" i said squealing

he laughed, "nice seeing you here. in a public school."

"oh shut up i don't wanna be here, too many weirdos and i know no one here, except you"

the bell rang and i counted a total of thirty-one students in the class.

"hello students im mrs. pollen, because this isn't grade school anymore we're gonna cut right too the chase. everything you heard about me is true. ( a/n our teacher actually said this to us on the first day no lie )

i sighed and looked to the side of me which was where ashton was sitting and saw him scribbiling something down on a piece of paper.

me and ashton have been good friends since we where in pre-school.

his parents moved here a little after my dad became the local churches preacher.

his mom became a secretary of the church, and thats when i started to see him more often.

when first period was over ashton caught up with me in that hall.

"what do you have next syd?"

"please don't call me that, my name is sydney"

"what's your next class?" he asked ignoring my response.

"anatomy with ms. clandestine"

"oh"

"so im guessing we don't have the same class together?"

"nope, have fun syd" he said turning into another hall.

when i entered the class room i looked around at the class that seemed to have a little less than what my math class had.

the desks where in pairs of four. and there was only one section left that had a vacant seat.

three girls where sitting in it. one had purple hair, one with brown, and last, one with black.

"uh mind if i sit here?"

the girl with black hair looked around at the other two who just shrugged.

"sure" the girl with purple hair said, "my names maria, this is paisley, and she is grace" she said pointing to the brown headed, then to the black haired girl.

"hi, im sydney"

"hey sydney" grace - the black haired girl - said who was sitting across from me.

"good morning, my name is ms. clandestine and i teach anatomy"

the rest of the day went on like this, teachers introducing themselves and forcing us to stand up and share something about your self.

my last period was gym.

"our gym teacher is a boy this year?", i heard someone mutter.

when we got into the what seemed like 200 year old gym where we were told to sit together.

with mostly girls in the front and boys in the back sitting together on the dirty gym floor we took up almost half of the gym.

"good after noon, so im guessing this is my second class for juniors" a semi tall coach said as she stepped in front of us.

i knew there where people missing, and wow there are a lot of us.

in private school we only had one gym class and the most was 15 students per class.

as i examined the coach more i could see she had a slight accent, not the australian one, but neither american.

her head was shaved and she wore mainly male clothes.

"okay so as im coming to the end of this introduction, i want to tell you all that i will be nothing but honest with you guys, so i guess i should tell you that i am gender fluid and also i am proudly from west africa for those of you who could hear the accent. now boys, coach ladner should be here any second, but for now go to your side of the gym." she said pointing to the left side.

when the final bell rang most of us were out of breath because she made us exercise during the whole period.

"you girls have it rough" ashton said catching up to me.

"we're not in the miitary, so why is she making us do all of this stuff? i counted us doing over 30 pushups, squats, and sit-ups, let alone we had to run around the gym for 5 minuets." i said shaking my head.

ashton laughed shaking his head "well lucky for us we went outside and played football"

i rolled my eyes as we exited the school into the parking lot.

"see you later syd" ashton said giving me a small wave and walking off to his truck.

section 105 i muttered to myself reading the numbers of each lot, until i found my car.

"you cant be serious" i groaned out as i pulled my keys out of my purse.

i was parked next to a shiny black truck that two boys where leaning up against, and the other was sitting on the hood of my car.

"uh hey, can you get off of my car?" i asked pulling open the backdoor and throwing my backpack in.

he turned around and smirked at me, "oh sure, only if you say please princess."

i rolled my eyes and climbed into the drivers seat and cranked the car up.

"im not afraid to drive with you on the hood" i said.

he hopped off and walked over to my side with the two other boys following him.

"and you are?" he asked resting his hand on top of my car and leaning down to look at me.

"why does it matter? look i have to go, so bye" i said reaching out to close my door.

"woah princess, take it easy talk to me" he said smirking at me.

i rolled my eyes, "ill talk to you later, promise"

he sighed "you better" and then walked away with the other two boys following behind him.

as i was pulling out of school campus my phone whent off.

"hey dad" i said resting the phone between my cheek and shoulder.

"yes im coming"
