I was jolted awake by a strong breeze. I had fallen asleep late dawn while catching my breath. I was worried that Tessa wouldn't be able to ask pan and that something would go wrong, but I had fallen asleep anyways. I glanced outside. Grass hid the entrance to the hollow tree and I could see that it was almost dark out. I stood up to stretch. The tree was fairly big. I could stretch my legs sitting down and almost stand up straight.
"Come on Tessa." I whispered.I heard the crunch of foot steps near by and crouched as far from the entrance as I could get.
"Lyn!" Pan's voice called near the entrance.
"Pan!" I exclaimed launching out and hugging her. "Thank god!" I exclaimed pulling away and looking at her. Tessa was behind her and they both wore grim faces.
"Lynoia." A gruff man said. I turned around to see police officer Regs behind me. "We've been looking for you." He said.
"Guys...you didn't..." I asked turning to look at them.
"We didn't have a choice. Your dad caught us trying to get your bank card." Pan said.
"No!" I yelled trying to make a break for it. Officer Regs grabbed my waist and I screamed. "I HAVE TO LEAVE!" I yelled. "LET ME GO!"
"Nope, we're taking you home." He said as another officer grabbed my legs and they carried me to their squad car taking me home.
when I got home my mom and dad cried with relief. They hugged me and kissed me, telling me how worried they were.
"I have to leave!" I said.
"NO!" My mother yelled. "You are not leaving! and to ensure eyou're here until the end of the school year Officer Regs is now you're personal guard!" My mother said.
"WHAT?!" I yelled.
"No more stunts, school work, home. Nothing else, you have been cut off." My father said.
"You can't do this! I need my Dares! Without them I'll go crazy!" I yelled.
"NO, no dares, no stupid stunts no hanging with friends anywhere else but at home. You are under house arrest." My mother said firmly. I couldn't say anything. I was doomed. I'd either go bat shit crazy and kill myself or Damaged would beat me to it.
"Pan! Tessa! Do something!" I exclaimed turning to my friends.
"We can't!" Tessa exclaimed.
"We've already tried everything. There isn't anything left for us to say." Pan told me.
"Can they sleep over?" I asked looking at my parents pleadingly. They both nodded their heads and I almost dragged Tessa and Pan up to my room, slamming the door.
"Okay, what is going on, Lyn?" Pan asked.
"Damaged! He's real!" I exclaimed.
"What do you mean?" Tessa asked.
"He's real, he isn't just a bedtime story, he lives and breaths, he's controlled by The Devil, and unfortunately I have been deemed unworthy of my soul! Damaged is after me! I need to get out of here! I need to run! If I'm here to long I'll be slaughtered like a sheep!" I said.
"Slow down!" Pan said. "Star from the beginning." I took a deep breath and told them what happened.
"Then I told pan to ask you and I went to the tree." I finished.
"So Damaged is actually some sexy demon looking to destroy your soul, because you put yourself in danger purposely." Pan summed up.
"Pretty much, yeah." I said, flopping over onto my bed.
"not to mention that the new Doctor at the hospital is the mother fucking Devil!" Tessa exclaimed.
"Yeah, but you can't tell anyone! It will tip both Damaged and Lucifer off. I need to remain hidden for as long as possible." I said.
"You're going on that graduation trip to Mexico right? So if you can stay hidden for two months you could use that as your chance to escape! The day you leave is the day your trust fund is unlocked and you get 63 thousand dollars! you could go anywhere!" Tessa said.
"Tessa, I think we should go with her." Pan said.
"WHAT?!" Tessa and I exclaimed.
"We all have trust funds beig unlocked in that week. Lyn gets 63K I get 80k, and Tessa gets over 100k because of her four aunts and her grand parents." Pan said. "Not to mention she's going to need look outs. Another bonus, I know about fighting, and Tessa knows about computers. We'd be unstoppable. We just have to keep you, Lyn, under wraps for two months." Pan said.
"But you ca-" I started.
"I agree with Pan." Tessa said. "She's completely right, it'll be safer with three of us instead of just you." I paused letting this sink in.
"Alright. Then it's settled; we move out in two months. You girls sure about this?" I asked.
"Yes." Tessa answered.
"Hell yeah!" pan added.
"Alright. Then let's start planning this out." I said smiling at my two best friends and soon to be fellow runners.
