“LYN!” Pan exclaimed rushing over to me.
“Hi.” I replied, yawning. I got up out of the seat I was in to hug Pan and Tessa.
“Your parents said you were gone all night…” Tessa said, hugging me briefly. I plopped back into my seat and stretched.
“I was. They wanted me to remain locked up until the final moments and I got fed up so I left.” I said with a shrug.
“Well you can sleep on the plane.” Pan said. “So, before that, tell us what happened!”
“What do you…” I started. Tessa jabbed my forehead and I hissed at the sharp pain. “Oh…That…” I mumbled. “I’ll only tell you if you promise not to get mad at me.”
“Fine.” They said at the same time.
“I…I spent the night with…with Damaged.” I muttered, hoping they didn’t hear me.
“YOU DID WHAT?!” Tessa nearly screamed.
“Shush!” I exclaimed. Tessa was fuming, clearly angry at what I had said.
“Why would you do something so risky?!” Pan asked.
“Because!” I yelled, pushing myself up and turning away from them, crossing my arms. “I have been grounded for forever. No excitement, no fun, no adrenalin! Damaged finally gave me some freedom…though it didn’t go quite as we thought it would…” I said.
“What do you mean?” Tessa asked in a warning tone.
“Well he had this magic truck, and he gave me a thrill ride by flipping it.” I said with a shrug.
“That’s what happened to your face?” Pan asked.
“Uh…no…that came later… When I got lost in the forest…” I whispered, shivering.
“He took you into the forest? You’re horrified of the forest at night!” Tessa said.
“No! When the truck finally stopped it was in the forest and I panicked…I got myself lost, and in the process something started to hunt me…” I said dropping my voice lower. I turned around and stepped closer to them. “I tripped onto rocks and passed out when I woke up there was something circling me in the forest, so I got freaked out when it revealed itself to me. It was a huge coal wolf, with fire coming from its joints…” I said in a whisper. “Its name is Kelikath…I think it was a hell hound, and Lucifer sent it to help Damaged…”
“So it was a fucking trap!” Tessa exclaimed.
“Shh! No it wasn’t…He saved me…And then Carried me to a diner were he bandaged me…” I said, blushing a little as I remembered clinging onto him.
“So it was an almost ordinary night…” Pan clarified.
“For me it was even better because Claire came into the diner and Damaged totally rejected her!” I said laughing.
“No way!” Pan exclaimed.
“Yeah she tried to pull him away and said he’d pick me over her any day of his life!” I said. “She looked ridiculous!” Pan and I giggled shortly before Tessa’s glare brought us back.
“I assume he knows where we’re going…” Tessa stated.
“He does, and he knows we’re planning to run; but he doesn’t know where we’re going after Mexico.” I said.
“I would hope so. If he found out then we’d be in some serious shit!” Tessa said, shaking her head. “But about last night…I guess since you’re here and okay I can’t really be mad at you…”
“Really?!” I asked.
“Yes… Really.” Tessa replied.
“YAY!” Pan and I exclaimed giggling.
“As long as you promise never to see Damaged again.” She said glaring at me. I felt my heart drop and got sad and a little scared at the thought.
“N-Never?” I asked. Pan looked indifferent and she shrugged at Tessa’s proposal.
“Never again.” Tessa crossed her arms.
“But…” I started trying to fix this.
“No but’s!” Tessa exclaimed. “He is trying to kill you! Trying to take you from us!” She gestured to her and Pan. “We don’t want to lose you! Promise me you’ll NEVER see him again!” She finished. I was torn… Last night was the best night of my life… Damaged had made it the best night, the biggest adrenalin rush I’d ever felt; I was terrified.
“I…I promise…” I murmured, knowing it was a lie. I sat back down and looked towards the boarding to Mexico where Damaged was watching me intently, a smirk on his face. I knew he had heard us, and I knew he knew I was lying. I blushed a little and looked away sharply. When I glanced back he was gone, and his boarding gate was closed. He’d be in Mexico an hour before us.
“Our plane is beginning to board now that the other one is leaving.” Pan pointed out. I grabbed my carry on and smiled at them.
“Adventure awaits us, Ladies!” I exclaimed. We all laughed as we boarded the plane; the beginning of our adventure had truly begun.
Damaged's POV:I watched her and listened as she lied to her friends. I knew she wouldn’t be able to stay away from me just as I wouldn’t be able to stay away from her. I smirked and watched as she sat down and looked at me. Her cheeks went a little pink and she looked away sharply, making me laugh before I boarded the plane. I was going to be in Mexico before her and I wanted to look around and take it in; I hadn’t been to Mexico in almost a hundred years and I was excited to go. On the plane I sat down and thought about Mexico.
“Malperado! Please, please, Mal, please don’t! We’re friends right? Come on!” Julio begged me; I looked down at him and felt a pang in my chest. He was my friend, I couldn’t kill him. “Please, just give me a chance!”
“Alright…” I whispered. “I can’t do it anyways, you’re my friend.” He looked up at me, tears in his eyes and I he thanked me over and over again.
“I promise to be good; I’ll move and everything, and stay safe! Gracias, gracias!” He said turning to leave. He took to steps before Kelikath came out of nowhere and cut him down. His soul vanished and he died.
“NO!” I yelled, rage filling me.
“Master knew you would do this! You got to close to your prey!” Kelikath laughed cruelly. “Don’t worry, I’ll tell Master you helped me catch him.” He laughed more as he vanished. I could hear Julio’s wife in the house, calling his name, and I stepped away from her now dead husband, a single tear rolling down my cheek. I vowed right there that I wouldn’t get close to any other targets, that I would just complete the job. I turned my back on my dead friend and went back to hell.
