For the first time (A JC Caylen Love Story)

Chapter 1

Hi! My names Ashley, I'm 18 years old & I live in New Zealand. I'm a YouTuber, I run a beauty/makeup/fashion channel.  

I honestly couldn't tell you what I'm doing with my life right now, I'm making YouTube videos & that's about it! I live with my Aunty because my Mum "isn't fit to look after me" which makes sense considering she's a druggie with a past you couldn't imagine.

I'm hoping to move out on my own soon, considering I'm technically old enough & obviously capable! The only thing stopping me is money, I make enough money of YouTube to live off at the moment, but I highly doubt it would be enough to cover the costs of living on my own.

"Ashley sweetie, it's your mum on the phone!"  Oh god, I think to myself. Nothing can ruin my day more than hearing that. 

"Hello" "yup" "okay" "not surprised" "why would you do that?" "Okay bye" 

Those were the only words I said the whole conversation. Mum was going back into jail, don't know how long for but I didn't really care. Don't even know what for to be honest, I didn't pay too much attention.  

My Aunty made me a hot chocolate and sat down with me. I think I'm just used to it, I don't cry anymore. She's been in an out of jail so many times it doesn't effect me now. 

You're probably wondering why I don't live with my Dad..My Dad lives in America, California to be precise.  

He's the complete opposite of my mum to be honest! He's successful & happily re-married with 2 sons, Sam, who's 16 & Ryder who's 5. I Skype them almost every other day & have a close relationship with them. I always wonder what ever led him to be with my mum in the first place!

*Next day*

I jumped in my car and headed home, I'd just finished recording a couple of videos with another YouTuber called Shannon, she was up here in Auckland for a few days so we thought we'd film together! There are not a lot of youtubers from NZ so it was a great opportunity! We filmed some Valentines outfit ideas & a valentines make-up tutorial (since its nearly valentines day) it was a lot of fun & the footage looks great!

I was half way through editing the videos when I got a incoming Skype call from my Dad. I quickly opened it and said hi to him & Ryder. His wife, Shar was at work, she's a photographer for some big magazine, which is pretty cool! & Sam was out with some friends I think. 

We'd been talking away & Ryder got bored so he went to play outside. Dad suddenly went quiet.  "Hey, I wanted to ask you something..." He said, looking worried.  "Sure!" I replied, anxious but not really expecting a lot.  "We'll, I was wondering, since your moms gone back into jail & your aunt is having trouble financially, maybe if you wanted, like, you could maybe, move out here!"  I went silent. I couldn't believe what he was asking me. 

"Are you being serious!?" I asked surprised!  "Uh, yeah only if you want to! It's just an idea you know it's probably stupid but.."  "Of course! I'd love to!" I interrupt before he can go on.  "Really?!" He says shocked  "Yes!!" 

We continue talking about our plans for over an hour, he has to go because it was getting quite late there but promised to call tomorrow and get things sorted out with my Aunty & all the legal stuff. But it was going to be easy getting permission since that's all the court has wanted since I was taking away from my mum when I was 4!  I can't believe it, I'm moving to California!
