I'm kissing you - Des'reeMonday morning. My alarm rings in my ears, I peel my eyes open. I do struggle in the mornings. I got myself ready and walked out the front door, starting my walk to school.
"Zara!" I heard Cody calling my name.
"Morning gorgeous" I smiled, kissing his lips for a couple of seconds. My first lesson was English, how lovely."Will Cody Herbinko please come to the principle office" an announcement echoed through the room, 40 minutes into the lesson. Everyone turned to the back of the class, watching Cody stand, he left the classroom without a word.
Just as I was leaving the room, Cody grabbed my wrist and pulled me out of the way to talk.
"They cast me as Romeo for the school play" he blurted out with a smile, his eyes flickered all round my face, worried about my reaction.
"I didn't know you were a little actor" I slapped his arm playfully.
"Yeaaah" he replied, embarrassed "I took Drama and all the teachers love me, they didn't even get me to read the script"
"Sooo..." My facial expression dropped from happy to concerned "who's going to be Juliet?"
"well that was my point, I was hoping you'd try out for the role?" He asked nervously.
"Well acting isn't really speciality but anything to stop another girl from kissing you" I giggled.
A few hours later...
All the girls had been informed about the casting, we collected our scripts and were given an hour to rehearse, then we had to perform on stage in front of all the drama teachers. A few girls went up and ran through the script, but I just didn't see that spark, especially in the kiss. Most of these girls weren't at all interested in the play, they just wanted to kiss Cody. It was my turn now, only 2 people left, I grabbed my lines then stood opposite on the stage.
"Action" Mr Radford called out.
"If I profane with my unworthiest hand, this holy shrine, the gentle sin is this; my lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand. To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss." Cody speaks with no stutters at all, he steps closer to me.
"Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much, which mannerly devotion shows in this, for saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch, and palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss." I speak surprisingly smoothly, I turn to see about 10 girls sitting with their arms folded, all giving me very unpleasant looks.
"Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too?" Cody's hand tucks my hair behind my ears, resting his hand on my cheek.
"Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer" Cody's lips smack against mine, leaving meaningful but not to sexual kiss on my mouth.
"O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do. They pray; grant thou, lest faith turn to despair." He spoke quietly, his eyes flickering around my face.
"Saints do not move, though grant for prayers' sake." I replied with a slight smile.
"Stop. Stop!" Miss Barber stood up from her chair "Zara, you have the part! Everyone else thank you for coming"
Whilst everyone left I heard a few moans from the girls, Cody and I walked down the steps of the stage.
"Thank you so much miss" I walked towards her with Cody behind me.
"Of course darling, you two were brilliant! I see a real spark" she looks up at us through her glasses with a cheeky look, sorting out her papers.
"Well, when should we come and rehearse?" I asked with a grin.
"I'll email you both the schedule, have a nice day" she smiled in return.
"You too miss" Cody replied
"Bye miss" we walked out of the room."Oh my god" the second we stepped out the building Cody picked me up by my waist, spinning me round "I can't believe you got the part I'm so happy"
"So am I!" I kissed him softly "Romeo Romeo, where fore art thou Romeo" I winked in a posh accent.
"You're too cute" he giggled back.
